    Now we had the 997, the targa, the cab and also the turbo in the facelifted version. It really is about time that Porsche presents the 997 Mk II.

    Did anybody notice that here seems to be an additional braking light under between the wing and the rear bumper? Or is that because it is a cab, and it does not have the brakelight under the rear window?

    Bridggar! Bridggar!! I enjoy reading your info but what i don't undertand is the rate at which your change your stance. A few weeks ago you said and I qoute "bridggar:

    I understand the facelift will be launched at Frankfurt show. (but not confirmed) Delivery starts April 2008. (confirmed)

    Personally, I like the facelift. I just hope that DI and an abundance of addtional HP are in the mix.

    The DI-engines are the reason for the facelift.

    Let's hope they'll get the poweroutput right.

    I am soooo hopeful that the new Lexus IS-F and the new M3 will push Porsche to offer 400hp in the 997S (without the rediculously priced X51, that is). I know comparing a 911 and a Lexus is comparing apples and oranges in so many respects. And believe me that I know that owning a N/A Porsche has never been about HP. But I just can't stand the thought of stopping at a freeway entrance stoplight next to a Lexus and getting smoked to the freeway entrance. I cringe at the thought. Ugh!

    Apologies if I missed this....the threads a tad long ....We've seen pics of Coupe, Cab, and Targa......should we assume Porsche will pull off an all-model (C2, C4 etc) revision at one time?.....ie making all models avail in face-lift at one time.

    Yes correct , all at one time.
    No facelift on Turbo or GT2 however.
    GT3 and GT3 RS will be no longer produced so no facelift either.

    So after all this talk of showing the new car at frankfurt, is Porsche going to continue to make us wait? I'm dying to details and official launch date so I can lock in my order. Any word or news from Germany?

    I think they'll have to do something soon. Porsche UK sales were down for August according to the SMMT, and I understand September isn't looking as rosey as last year either.

    I think you should get the F430 regardless. Facelift 997 is pretty much the same 997 with new rear lights and more money. Engine is still based on P97 by some tweeking they give you probably 25 more HP from 5500 rpm to 6800 rpm which is not usable anyways.

    Get the F430.

    Porsche numbers for the UK will be down going forward as I hear that there will be restricted supply to support residuals. The facelift won't come before sumnmer next year.
