    Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

Suncoast Motorsports in Sarasota installed the Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers on my 997TT. The car sounds so much better now, like it should stock.

I noticed that the oil temp seems to get warmed up slightly quicker now, anyone else see this, or am I just "seeing" things?

Very happy with this setup at this stage, later I'll do the GIAC flash.

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

Which Fabspeed setup, the quiet or the loud exhausts?

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

great move...im sorta resisting because once the addiction starts im sure you feel the need to go all the way...bag the warranty full speed ahead ..congratulations..oh was the install place your pcar dealer ?

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

Do you have the 997 Twin Turbo Maxflo Sport Exhaust ?

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

I have instaled Maxflo Sport Exhaust from Fabspeed .. im very happy with the sound.. No oil temp increse with me !

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

See Phil at Suncoast Motorsports, Fl. This is where I got the car and had the exhaust and headers done (mod friendly Porsche dealer and highly recommended). The Fabspeed is the Maxflo Motorsport exhaust and EVO F1 style headers.

One of the drawbacks of the 997TT is the exhaust note and the "feel" of speed. I can say first hand that the exhaust mod makes all the difference in the world, the feel is there because you can hear it!!! Some of the "feel" of speed is hearing the exhaust growl. The car sounds so wicked, not overbearing loud, just plain wicked like a Porsche should sound, especially the Turbo. It now sounds like it should!! I don't think any mod could be more satisfying than the exhaust, even the GIAC ECU tune alone can't compensate for the lack of exhaust note. I get a smile everytime I start the car up. When cold and backing out of the garage with the note echoing off the walls with that gurgling growl....pure music!!

Outlaw----I don't see any higher oil temps just seems to warm up quicker, did you notice this?

I agree on every word you said, most important mod is an exhaust for the Turbo..

No i didn't notice oil temp warming up quicker but what I noticed is that when the I start the car and the RPM is as the car is already warmed up, doesn't hang above 2000 for a while as it was before, this doesnt happend all the time, some times, so i dont know if this is from the exhaust or the temprature outside ?!

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

    Mike

Im having the same setup done and adding EVO intercoolers
(evo headers, Fabspeed exaust and tips) also GIAC Flash.) Also having the XM modual from the Cayenne put in. Dealer says it will work seemlesly in the 997TT. But I will let you know!.. Havent gotten the car back yet so I cant report. Should be today..... Are you still very happy with your set up?
    thanks

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

    Scott,

Nice setup, I'm waiting for the warranty to run out (or I get more bold) before the GIAC flash. I really like the FS and Evo header setup, the sound is intoxicating...still!! Also the car seems to wake up the more miles you have (I'm at 5K), others have mentioned this and it's true. I think all the turbos are like this modded or not. The turbos seem to spool up faster with the FS exhaust, probably because of less back pressure. Keep me posted on your progress.

Re: Fabspeed Exhaust & EVO headers

You might consider that you can do the GIAC flashloader now which places both the stock and performance maps on the ECu. You then switch between the 2 via a dongle you connect to the OBD II plug. One button push and you are back to stock for the dealer visits. Should be invisible if you keep the stock redline.
