Greg, you made the right choice with Basalt. Few weeks ago I went to the dealer and looked at the Basalt under the sun. The car was covered with dust. I rubbed my index finger real hard on the paint and then tried to see if I could see any swirl marks and could not see anything. Try doing this to STD BLK

You couldnt. Thanks, I think so. I've had the last 2 + years to think about which color to get and I knew Basalt was my 1st choice when I put my order in but wanted to make sure before I can no longer change the order. Was at a dealer last week and just got back from a short ride to a Porsche dealer 8 minutes from my home - Porsche Roslyn. They had a Basalt Cayenne outside in the lot and another inside. One of the sales guys was nice enough to move the one outside out into the open. In the sun you can really see how Metallic the paint is w/ goldish/silver flake and some blue too. But the car indoors was not under showroom lights it was in the service department and the metallic disappeared. It's a very cool color imo. 7 new black cars for me in the last 10 years so while I love straight black but I'm tired of it. The Basalt should be perfect for what I want, like the sales guy said "it has more attitude than black" .. IMO it's the most interesting color from Porsche....... What's happening w/ your Turbo Cab, if I remember you had a October/November build date? Have you decided on color 100%?

Greg, I locked in on Basalt/BLK/BLK for Oct build and no way will I change it. Can't think of a better color to go with. I Only have 2 more months before the beast is born. You should come to visit Nor Cali and take the car for a spin in December. Dealer delivery date is Christmass day. Should be a merry X-mass. My 997S came in Dec 24th 2005 as well. Come on down and Beer is on me.

I'm nuts I know but visited ANOTHER dealer yesterday. Have 10 Porsche dealers within 25 miles of my home so it's not a big deal but wanted to look at Black vs Basalt Black again & Porsche Huntigton had some Basalt cars outside. The more I see it the more I like it. It really is a gorgeous color, has the bad-ass look of black but with the interesting look of the Metallic's. In the sun where the body panels curve the paint really lights up. Crazy that Porsche offers it for free on the Turbo.
Congrats! If we had Cali type weather in December/January I would have kept my September build. But can't wait to see your car (pics or in person) it's going to look exactly the same from the outside. Basalt Black /Black/black, PCCB's... When you get your car I'll have to look at your pictures and live vicariously through you till Feb/March when I get mine! What can you say Great Minds Think Alike!

It's so funny that having my TT for over a month I kept looking for different wheels as I hated my wheels. Nevertheless I found something wrong with every after market wheel I saw. Now the wheels have grown on me and looking at most of these pics I think TT wheels give the car a special character

I think the stock turbo wheels look great. Keep them.
