    Carrera GT at Rector

The owner of Monster Cable has his guards red CGT in for service--he wants it raised 1/2"--apparently it's his daily driver. First one I've seen in person, and it's better than the pix! Didn't have my camera, so no pix--sorry.

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

? I thought ride height was not adjustable?

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

For 1/2 a mill, It better be height adjustible...

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

I wonder if raising CGT by 0.5" will materially alter its dynamics, given it seems like such a carefully honed track machine....with a purposefully engineered low center-of-gravity, etc. etc.

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

why would someone do that to such a car. i absolutely HATE it when people raise the height of cars. it is totally beyond me. i know its to make it nice a soft for their poor backside, driving that car all day but this is a Carrera GT for christs sake!! the car is that height for a reason.

Well, if the guy is using it as his daily driver, then maybe he has another car for track days.

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

    Poursha,
Dropped my Carrera off at Rector today and saw it as well...very sweet
The brakes looked like they came from a 747...but I can't believe this guy wants to have it raised ..sacrilege.

Daily driver huh, a review I read (can't remember where) said that this thing will make you break out into a cold sweat trying to enter a busy freeway. Either you stall it or smoke the tires for the length of the on-ramp due to the high clutch pick up point, and of course 400+ lb/ft of torque and 600 ponies.
Should be exciting for Mr. Monster Cable.

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

I can't remember were but I read somewere that Porsche was willing to raise it 10mm max for someone, since thats about as much as you can raise it without really screwing up the aerodinamics and such.

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

Noel Lee has MANY sports cars. He also is a major sponsor of The Racer's Group's GT3RSR ( who competed at Le Mans last weekend ). He can do anything he wants with this car, LOL. He owns Monster Cable by himself - started it by selling fat speaker cable when others were still using lamp cord wire. Now with all the high tech A/V stuff all over the world, he is still selling connecting wire/power strips at a pretty hefty mark-ups due to carefully managed brand recognition. Not a bad gig, esp since he shows his sports cars at audio conventions with Monster Cable wiring, allowing him to write off all these cars as company advertising expenses !

    Re: Carrera GT at Rector

He's bought a bunch of turbos from 2 local dealers that I know of, and apparently lets his his top sales people drive them. I've seen a few of the turbos parked in front of The Good Guys over the years with the Monster Cable plate frame.
