The twin hump rear deck design of this 718 version is virtually a carry over from the 981 model. Here is my 981 Spyder next to our 981 Boxster S showing the difference in the rear decks. The rear spoiler on the 718 looks smaller and this will be down to the incorporation of the already raised section of the standard 718 model where the Porsche lettering sits. Apparently Oliver Blume, CEO of PAG, was asked - at the recent PCA Porsche Parade event by a RT member - if the forthcoming 718 Spyder would have a NA engine and he replied that it would.

It's worth bearing in mind that the 981 Spyder development cars did not have the final production front bumper when they were caught testing in South Africa so the 718 version may yet see a different front end than the Sport Design kit version fitted to this car and may end up sharing the GT4 design once again which would makes sense as it spreads the cost across two models.
The 718 Spyder not only has the bigger Carrera brakes, it has the 380mm GT3/GT4 brakes!
Second it has now the same tire dimensions as the GT4. The 981 Spyder had the normal Boxster sizes.
Third, there are Cup 2 on the Spyder, the 981 Spyder had normal Pirellis.
This makes me thinking that the Spyder will get the GT4 suspension. 981 had standard sport suspension.
But totally unclear what engine it will get.
flat 4 turbo, flat 6 turbo, flat 6 n/a
Exhaust look like flat 6 turbo.
New emission rules beginning Sep 2018 in europe, may force them to drop n/a or they have to use particulate filters.

C'mon, we are talking still about Porsche, right? Therefore, as much as I would be looking forward to seeing this Super-Spyder in real life, I very much doubt that this Model would come close to a potential GT4 specc. Anyway, I am already taken by the looks of this car...
