    997 GT2

Single sheet from my Motorpresse friend:

    3600ccm
    530PS/6500
    693Nm/2200-4500
    1440KG
    0-100km/h: 3.7s
    0-160km/h: 7.4s
    Max: 328km/h

    Manual
    PCCB
    PASM
    PSM
    LSD
    Schalensitze
    LC

I simply do not know if this is true
    BUT, it sounds good...

    Re: 997 GT2

    impressive!

    Re: 997 GT2

does it come with sport chasis option?

    Re: 997 GT2

I have single sheet of paper in German. Not a single word about Sport chassis, only PASM(similar to one on GT3RS).

And one info for PDK fans... NO PDK at all on 997 Turbo/GT2 models. You will have to wait for 998(or whatever its code name will be)...

    Re: 997 GT2

    Thanks KresoF1.
I was expecting that since Porsche is very conservative in updating, interested as it is to make the biggest profit possible over their sells.

That really is impressive! The improvement over the manual 997TT is 1 full second (from 8.4 down to 7.4 for 0-160km/h). Awesome.

    Re: 997 GT2

fantastic acceleration, lets hope the handling is less...interesting(?) than the 997 TT. and for gods sake, NO SUNROOF!

    Re: 997 GT2

    any data about 0-1000 mt?

    Re: 997 GT2

USA Brochure is already out and scanned. You will find all data in another thread.

I am glad that my info was correct one.

    Re: 997 GT2

    What is MSRP?

    Re: 997 GT2

In Germany around 196.000Euro with some nice options...

Are you serious? That would make it $270,229.36 using today's exchange rates! Almost $100k more than the 996 GT2. I'm pretty sure that Porsche will probably adjust the MSRP for the US market to avoid that.

Porsche's US prices are far below the European prices. The GT2 will be much cheaper in the US.

I am serious. Do you know how much is 997TT in Germany fully loaded? From 160.000-165.000 Euros...

In Europe we have to pay much, much more then you guys in USA.
BTW, 997 GT2 USA price will be fully loaded in $180K range for sure...

    Man!

No. The GT models have always come with sport chassis compulsory. .

my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

but they have a one car allocation and 6 people wanting to buy it - he told me that the car will be market value priced and will go for well in excess of $200K

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

Interesting to see how Porsche manages to price their vehicles differently for all the different markets. There seems to be such a wide deficient in pricing between markets.

No chance! The 2004 GT2 MSRP was $191,700. I bet $198,000 or $199,000, without options, tax and license.

No need to worry. If a car in europe cost Euro 196 000 it cost $196 000 in the US. The conversion from euro to dollar have been crazy these days because the dollar has lost 30% of it's value the latest 5 years.

    Re: 997 GT2

Will likely MSRP in US for just under psychologically important $200K level....

Will likely trade-in in one yr for just over psychologically important $100K level....

Will be interesting comparing one-yr ownership cost/unit of performance (NBR, accel, high-speed stability, etc) of 997GT2 vs 430CS/599....

    Re: 997 GT2

WBH there is a 2003 996 GT2 selling for $144,000 on autotrader right now. Something tells me the 997GT2 will not lose half its value after 1 year dep. Does anybody know how many are going to be produced? Guesses?

    Re: 997 GT2

I'm guessing not enough will be built and that there will be dealer markups for this model. This sounds and looks like a great car. and it will be in high demand.

    Re: 997 GT2

even at 30% loss of it original value over the period of 1 year is very significant at the asking price of USD200K level...

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

Kreso, this is Your car! get it!

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

    Andrea,
    I am thinking about it!
    Very, very tempting...

Sì sì Kreso! Buy this, this has psm and everything also for safety! no 997 turbo...and obviously R8...without too many optional...because in this case you just have The Beast 997 GT2

Re: my dealer in NJ told me MSRP is $186,000

    There two choices right know:
-either to get originally planned 997 turbo and R8
    or
    -997 GT2 and RS4 or new M3

Both combinations cost about the same money...
