    2006 Carrera 997 must go . . .


    To make room for a GT3 I am forced to sell my heavily-optioned, low-mileage, meticulously-maintained 2006 Carrera 997 coupe. The new car arrives in late July/early August, so the Carrera must go by then--or be traded in.

    Here are the particulars: 2006 Carrera coupe 997, 6k miles. Garaged. Covered. Pampered. A pristine, beautiful car. Options: Arctic silver, stone grey all leather seats, stone grey floor mats, Bi-Xenon headlamp package, 19" Carrera Sport wheels, wheel caps with colors crest, Power Seat Package, Bose High End Sound Package, Remote CD Changer, Sycamore Package (dash trim, shifter, handbrake), Silver Seat Belts.

    The out-the-door price was $86,500. I'm asking $67,000.

    Beautiful...is this 6 speed manual or Tiptronic?

    Is the car in Hawaii as well? Any idea on shipping cost to the mainland?

    Six-speed manual. The car is on O'ahu. Shipping to the west coast - Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle - is about $1,000.

    I just traded mine for a TT and mine had 2500 miles (06 C2s). Mint, the dealer paid me $70K

    I'll be lucky to get ten grand less than that for my C2. Trading in is a dismal prospect economially.

    Especially who wants a sports car with what appears to be a partial wood interior? not that I would care for a full wood interior either.

    It really funny how we spend all this money and loose all this money when we sell them. Doesn't seem like a good return on our money. Yea people can say they had fun driving it but all I hear is tons of people saying how much they are going to lose when they trade them in.

    It's really a matter of taste. I personally like the wood, but I like aluminun look too, and some carbon fibre. Used to be, sports cars, especially British, had wood trim of one kind or another. Wood is not un-sportscar-like.

    Just two weeks until it gets traded in. Make an offer. It won't be hard to beat the trade-in value and you will be buying the car well under market.
