    Poll: Best looking 997

What is the best looking 997.

My vote is for the 997 GT3. This car may also be the best looking 911 ever.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Nothing beats the clean basic look of the standard 997.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

I like the looks of the C4S. Better than my C2S. I also like the looks of the 997TT.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

For LOOKS alone, I flipflop between the C4S coupe and Turbo Coupe. I love the wide body look of the standard 911. The C4S Cab is a close second.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

    C4S Cab.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

GT3 997 in white is the most beautiful.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Your Cab sounds great. You've bxxxx that I lack to order PCCBs and X51 with a C4S Cab. If were price were not a factor, I would consider that car one of the best cars on the market today. Great power, surefooted handling facilitated by the PCCB's, wide body and a drop top. Nice job.

I love my newly acquired C4S Cab, but feel it needs a little more juice. I have about every option imaginable with the exception of X51 and PCCB. Those two options would have brought my sticker to $143,000; which I would consider price prohibitive (imho).

    I agree 100 percent.

Would be nice to see some sort of 18inch Fuch-esque wheels on the 997 too! _Two_ _round_ exhaust tips would excite me further.

Thanks a lot, devo! I absolutely love it- couldn't be happier!!!

I'd love, love to have the power of the TT ( just amazing), but I just couldn't wait any longer and I slightly prefer the cleaner lines of the C4S ( and the sound w/ PSE is much better, imo).

I did a search ( it only went back 50 posts), have you posted pics of your "baby" yet? Sorry, I don't remember. If not, please do.

Isn't good looking and 911 an oxymoron?

However, I will admit it is the best looking frog I have seen.

    Nick,

Your comment on this topic is as useful as garbage.

The lines on my 997S is better looking than your 430 at any angles.

This is the pot calling the kettle black

Both the F430 and the 997 are far less beautiful IMHO than the following: Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Gallardo Spyder, Murcielago, Pagani Zonda F and Carrera GT.

Best 997? I think in 1st place it's the 997GT3 in carrara white/black interior with yellow PCCB brake calipers followed closely in 2nd place by a -20mm 997 C4S in GT silver/cocoa followed closely in 3rd place by a 997 Targa 4S in midnight blue/two tone beige/black interior...

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Targa C4S hands down. I saw a black one withe beige interior at an autoshow last year. What a sight.

Agree regarding the base 997, and I like the rectangular tail pipes.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

I like what I got, C2S.. Gotta have the larger wheels, but I'm not totally won over by the wider-body C4S... It was the cat's pajamas during the 996 era, as the base 996 didn't have enough "hips" to it, but with the 997, the 2wd car is just "right" to me, and causing the 4S to be a bit bulbous in the trunk. Baby's got a bit too much back...

I feel the same about 993's, the standard body is more svelt and beautiful than the wide-body.

Any time anybody here catches me going to forums of cars I don't care for, just to sling mud and assume some stature of superiority by virtue of a car I bought, please melt my gold jewelry, throw my bottle of "Just for Men" in the trash, and beat me senseless with a large oak branch...

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

I prefer the 997 Targa 4 / Targa 4S. It looks really fantastic... I still hope that Porsche will produce a Turbo Targa... that would be aweful.

    Greetings

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Without a doubt the C4S coupe, in my opinion. The cabs (yes, even mine) look like ass-heavy bathtubs and the current Turbos look like the batmobile with all the extraneous scoops, vents, and geegaws on them. I vote for the classic look with the wider "4" stance. Sadly, looks are only a small factor when deciding which Porsche is for you, which is why I settled for the looks of a cab (life's too short to drive a car with a roof) and skipped the widebody (I prefer to drive the RWD car over the heavier 4WD).

Not sure if I'd have gone for a Turbo cab had that been an option when I bought, but probably not. The looks of the Turbo are just too ungainly for me to ignore.

    As seen at Starbucks.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

targa4s. Best looking 911 on the line up, hand down!

too bad it lack the turbo motor.

I don't agree (sorry). The Coupe is the "purest" form of the car; therefore best looking.

Others like Cab and Targa have been modified to allow for the ragtop and the hatchback and larger sunroof. The basic coupe look has been compromised. _ORIGINAL_ Porsche ethos is supposed to be all about an unwillingness to compromise.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

The Targa requires the classic 911 curves in the quarter-windows to be compromised. I think people prefer the Targa more for "it's neat and nifty" reasons than pure art and aesthetic.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

    GT3!!

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Pure Black Carrera 4S Plus with 381hp and 19" Carrera Classic wheels. Can it get any more classic, beautiful, timeless, breathtaking? Oh nooooo, have to wait another four months, this is gonna kill me.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

FWIW, the 997 was designed as a cabriolet- so arguably it's the "purest" (or whatever) design.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

C4S Coupe for me. Clean, no tail, and no holes.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

Welcome, sounds like a great beauty!

Yeah, the waiting can be a real bear.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

They all great, for different reasons....my Guards Red Carrera, with BBS 18in [compliance, plus the BBS gives it the sparkling look of the GT3, whose wheels are no accident], and PASM gives it the right height.

    Very smooth and rich----

    Cheers

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

I think there are three choices: coupe, Cab and Targa. All the rest are simply body trim options, which can be applied to any of these three models (more or less).

I vote for the Cab with the top down. There is nothing, in my mind, better looking than a roadster and the 99x and 98x bodies both have a great line with the way they've self-stored the top. While I respect those who hold the bath-tub view of the 997 Cab, I strongly disagree. I find the rear bulge a representation of the massive power contained therein, much like the rear fender hips. Which, of course, is exactly what it is.

If the top must be up, then the coupe. I wish that Porsche could find a way to mimic the coupe's rear-side window line better in the Cab. It is just beautiful.

    Re: Poll: Best looking 997

    Yes white GT3.

(MUCH Better than a yellow bellied, cheese eating surrender monkey)

I totally agree! I just pulled up behind a 996 C4S at a traffic light and was noticing it's shape from the rear. I much prefer the lines of the 997 C2. However, many seem to like the shape of the C4--I guess that's why they offer both models.
