A friend of mine who owns an Aventador (actually the only one here in my town, I posted a photo once with my son next to it) says that the Aventador is a connoisseur's driver car but not a car to achieve maximum performance in it. He is right. The Aventador may not be as fast as a McLaren 720S but it is one of the most beautiful sportscars ever built and a treat to drive if you enjoy the drive itself.

Last month I went to a track with our Lamborghini club . The president if the club came with two Aventador SV and one Huracan . He also said the Aventador is not made for doing fast laps . It was not about the 700 HP . That he owned this car for other reasons .

Smiley The Aventador is a statement and a beauty. It is an icon as well. You don't have to be fast in this car.

I always loved the Aventador SV but after driving it (jerky gearbox, visibility is really compromised and car is huge), I switched my preferences to the Huracan Performante. Still...whenever I see the Aventador, I start drooling. Smiley

Very weird video, I don't know what to make out of it but I wonder why some people laugh?

The owner(?) of the Lamborghini shouldn't have driven away, he should have waited for the police. What that guy did was crazy and I understand why he (owner) threw him to the ground but I also think that the guy on the ground is nuts and was faking when he was lying on the ground, the owner barely touched him. Pretty weird.

I often feel I'm getting too much attention in a grey 911.

A GT3 RS is sometimes more over the top than an Aventador, at least according to some people I know.

We have a guy in our driving group with a GT3 RS (991.1) and he is the only guy who gets bad comments from wives, girlfriends and bystanders because people just don't "get" that huge wing on the car. Almost every female loves the Aventador (we have one in our group), same goes to the Huracan and my R8. Smiley Same with the Carrera GT. Funny, an old 911 RS 2.7 gets no love at all and I'm not a big fan of the car either but the driver knows how to drive and he is a very pleasant (in this 60s) person, so he always joins us, even if he sometimes arrives late... Smiley Smiley

Yes, you could call them attractive but most of them (one exception Smiley Smiley ) don't have rubber boat lips, at least not artificial ones. My wife would know, she does all the botox on them. Smiley Smiley

Prejudice... Smiley We are a group of around 10-15 cars (mainly doctors, lawyers, a jeweler and two investment guys). Many different cars, no issues. Some have shirts, some are dressed "smart casual" (which nowadays is almost business casual Smiley ), others wear only a t-shirt, others those polo shirts from La Martina with those stupid graphics and one is even wearing a suit all the time, even in summer, which is impressive (he is older and this is just his style).

This guy is more than a loser, he is nuts. However, have you noticed the people surrounding the car? Nobody tried to help the Lambo guy, some were actually opposed to his actions and others were even laughing. Amazing how people sometimes behave like animals. Smiley One reason I try to avoid any sorts of confrontation when I'm driving my R8 or my Porsche cars. You can only lose. Had various "encounters" at parking lots and car washes, same goes to my wife and if you drive such a car, you will be "attacked". Nobody sides with the "rich" people... Smiley

I watched the interview and I have to say that the owner seems to be a fine man. Despite his "background" he was honest enough to share with us.

If this would have been me, I would have hit that guy. Hard. Accurately. Probably would have got me in serious trouble but I don't think I could have stopped myself in the same situation. I admire the calm of this guy (I remember how he reacted from the video), he could have really put that young black guy down but he didn't. He is a big guy, no problem for him.

Not a religious man myself, I guess his faith in god seems to have saved this guy from his own rage.

I get his disappointment in people and that nobody helped. Absolutely unbelievable.

So glad he was able to get his story out.

I agree. Just finished watching it and like you said hes a good man despite his rocky past.

It's just sad that some people don't respect other people's belongings.

Driving on a public road in a crazy wrap is asking for publicity and web fame. Get it dirty, paint it black and people would still notice, but nowhere near the number of photos as most would just assume its some sort of Masonry or garish tuner car.

Like when 911 mules have the crest taped over but are so obviously 911s--what's the point?

It is quite effective on the road in terms of disguising panel shape detailing. I sometimes see forthcoming models testing on roads in my area. I've seen the upcoming Aston Martin V8 Vantage replacement recently and saw the Bentayga, Range Rover Discovery, various Jaguars etc all covered it in over the past few years. Some of those had so much of this camo wrap on them (including the perforated version on the glass that you see used for advertising on buses etc) that it really was very difficult to make out the real design of the car.

Manufacturers know that car enthusiasts will capture photo's easily nowadays with the proliferation of smart phones, dash cams etc so painting their cars satin black would not make them any less noticeable and would make discerning details from photo's much easier.

Smiley This is actually a fact, it also "distorts" photos and makes it very difficult to "guess" the final design.
