    I need this car!

    Re: GT2 spotted

I need this car too. Mine is already 18 month old and I am not happy with my leather option. I really need that GT2 so I can have the central console in leather

Alan, imagine yourself driving around Newport Beach in this car.

He just did imagine it, and that's why he wants it.

    Nick, you'll never understand.

Alan for that amount of money you have so many options nowadays, it ain't 1999 or 2001 anymore.

Fritz you are right. I will never understand. I cannot think of one good reason to buy this car.

It looks like all other Porsche's, wing and all, has a history of very poor resale despite very limited production, totally useless on the road, performance greatly restricted (has the reputation of of widowmaker) because of driver ability and cost over $200,000.

Give me one good reason to buy the car.

I cannot think of one reason for you to buy one of the 911 GT models, Nick.

They are made for people who buy the cars to actually drive them.

Which is the exact reason why some other people really do want them.

I would have bet my 430 that would be your response. I cannot argue with you at that point. There are a lot of wannabes in the high perf. car market.

Nick Nick Nick. Your problem is you have no children. Instead your F430 has become your surrogate child, so when any car comes along that you feel is a threat to your child you have to bash it. I'm sorry you missed out on the greatest joy a person can experience, raising a child. It is infinitely more fun than driving a F430. But you will never know it. And you are so bitter for that.

Nick Nick Nick. You again show your ignorance to Porsche's models and their purpose. Who would buy the GT2 you ask? Someone who wants a more "raw" TT. You've criticized the 997TT as not being "raw" in the past when that was never the purpose of the car. Well, here it is, your "raw" TT- the GT2. The resale value again Nick, is a function of mileage. Why don't you put 60,000 miles on your F430 and see how much it goes for. And it's very revealing how you use the "totally useless on the road" argument against the GT2. No real sports car enthusiast would ever say that. This proves you're a poser! Not that we didn't all already know that.

    David

P.S. Regarding your "widowmaker" comment, I believe the GT2 will come with PSM.

    Re: GT2 spotted

    and PDK !!! ???

    Re: GT2 spotted

Let's talk about sport cars and not play Freud.

    Re: GT2 spotted

In Nick's defense, I think he does have a point about the GT2 although I don't agree with him altogether. I know it's easy to pick on a guy driving a yellow Ferrari conv, but Nick does get a lot of unnecessary flak around here...

Yes, but we like Porsche and when Nick starts to slam our beautiful P-Cars we tend to lash out - which is exactly what Nick wants!

I think as long as it doesn't get really personal/insulting and is all in jest there's no harm done on either side. It's always good to have a bit of a debate to keep the brain cells amused, even if the positions on either side are unlikely to change very much.

OK, DEFINITELY won't change AT ALL...

    SoS.

    Re: GT2 spotted

PS I only just read the "surrogate child" post in reply to Nick which was a bit over the line for me, too.

and yes, I think I need the GT2 too, because (select as you wish):

    a) My clear bra needs replacing
    b) My first set of rear tyres has worn out
    c) I have run out of petrol.

Actually I really need the GT2 because I DIDN'T ORDER THE -20MM SPORTS SUSPENSION

    Yours regretfully,

    SoS.

    Re: GT2 spotted

When is Porsche preseting this damn beast. Pictures of it without camo in various colour have been posted all around the net the latest weeks.

What in the world is Porsche up to?

Consider Nick has called Porsche enthusiasts "brainwashed" in the past. Bottom line, Nick is asking for it. It wouldn't be so bad if his arguments made sense, but they don't. For example, he has criticized the 997TT for not being "raw" enough. It doesn't matter to him that Porsche never intended it to be a "raw" car. Now Porsche comes out with the car he thinks Porsche intended with the 997TT and now he says there's no reason to buy a GT2. So let's see the 997TT isn't "raw" enough, but there's no reason to buy the GT2 which is the "raw" version of the 997TT. It's this kind of illogical troll posts intended to irritate Porsche enthusiasts that bug me. I don't think I'm alone. Notice he saves his best troll posts for Porsche models that are direct threats to his "child" Ferrari, and leaves "lesser" models like the Boxster and Cayman alone. I have no idea why he frequents the Porsche boards except to bust our balls. That's why I say he's a bitter old man with nothing to show for his time on Earth except his Ferrari.

    Re: GT2 spotted

Nick - have you actually driven a 997 GT3? Just curious as to whether your admonitions arise from first hand knowledge or simply supposition/extrapolation?

I have driven the 996TT,996GT3, Gallardo, Z06 and frequently driven the CGT and Stradale.

BTW,I very much enjoy having some people believe they are taking advantage of me. It only makes my day.

    Re: GT2 spotted

    So that is a No...
