    Re: There is no change!!!!

Interesting, i have just had an offer from a UK dealer for a 2008 MY 911. Suggested spec changes over 07 was the sum total of sat nav upgrade and a change of standard colours. I dont know how accurate this information is (it is from a dealer!) but it would be interesting to note if anyone else has had a simular communication.

Read my post over on the Turbo board for what is changing for MY08 (at least for the Turbo anyway, so I assume the other 997s will be the same until the facelift is introduced):

You can see new colours on the Porsche UK car configurator by just selecting the Turbo Cabriolet.

    New puddle in 997 facelift!

Anyone have some pics of new puddle? Is it true that there is a porsche logo on it?

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

    Hello everybody!
I'll try to scan new pics of the germen car magazin "Auto Zeitung". But there will be nothing new to see, what we've already seen here.
With the Facelift the 997 Mk II will get bigger side rear mirrors. In the Magazin they write that the Facelift will come in the 3rd quarter of 2008 (MY 2009) with an unbeleavable power-increase. The basic 997 Mk II might get 365 hp and the 997 S Mk II nearly 400 hp... I dont't think the increase will be that big including a less fuel-consumption of about 8% because of the change to direct fuelinjection.
BTW am I the only one who is posting pics of the facelifted 911 here?
I'm looking forward to the facelift!

    Greetings

    Ah, my dear Rossi!
My scanner is striking, but I won't give up and hope, that I'll soon be able to post 2 new (?) pics of the facelifted 997.

    Good news!

I'll keep my fingers crossed (for your scanner).

    My dear Rossi!

I don't know your fingers but I got the scanner fixed and now here are the promised pics. I also posted new pics of the upcoming GT2 and a nice computer pic of the Panamera. But lets begin here with the 997 Mk II.

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

... and here is the second pic. I already told you, that there is nothing really new for us.

The text of the magazine "AUTO Zeitung" doesn't seem to be reliable. They expect a power increase of 40 hp to the non S (365 hp) and 45 hp to the S (400 hp) and that is paired with a little reduction of the fuel-consumtion (about 8% less than the 997 Mk I).

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

Ow man... If you have some entreprenourship in you, you start buying lots of side mirrors... I think it will be a very popular replacement part to install the 997 mk1 mirrors...
Thanks a lot for the pics. It seems like I'm getting used to the front now.

    Hi Joost!
Don't you think, that the "smaller" mirrors won't be allowed any more. Because of the new EU-Rules?!
I start liking the new mirrors, they remind me a bit on the 993 mirrors... but only a little bit.

    Greetings

But anyway, I don't think he new mirrors look too bad.

That was what I tried to say, Rossi. Thanks for your support.

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

    hehe,
I have yet to find the first cop being able to distinguish a 996 from a 997... Do you think they will know the diff between 997 mk1 and 997 mk2 and then know which mirrors it has to have?!? Don't think so!
    -Joost-

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

The larger side-mirrors caught my attention when reports starting coming in for the update but until now, especially recently reading Joost's opinions on the mirrors have I really noticed that they are a bit too big and makes the overall silhouette looks darn awkward.

They will need the power increase just to compensate the higher CwxA value resulting from those HUGE mirrors

Err, mirrors of new cars are mostly the same concerning size, just compare these new mirrors to - let's say - those of a 599 example...

Einstein says: So they've already sold out the next 3 months' production.

At least the 599 got lots of power to compensate for the mirrors

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

What's about the new power of 997 facelift?
It will be more than 380hp?

It depends on the car you mean (the non S or the S?). The text of the magazine "AUTO Zeitung" doesn't seem to be reliable. They exspect a power increase of 40 hp to the non S (365 hp) and 45 hp to the S (400 hp) and that might be paired with a little reduction of the fuel-consumtion (about 8% less than the 997 Mk I).

Those are the highest estimates I've seen. Would be nice

That also creates the possibility of a Cayman RS Lightweight with more power (360hp GT3 MkI motor, please )

Re: New puddle in 997 facelift!

Very good! 400hp for the S!! That's good!!

Can't wait to see the puddles in my new car

    Someone have some pics?

Looking at that shot it might be that you're right. But I really start to believe, that the rear side mirrors will be a bit bigger. Because of the new "EU-Rules".
Let's wait and see, I for my part like the bigger and new styled mirrors (remind me on the 993).

    Nice collection

Anyone else wish Porsche would forget about VW and buy Aston Martin - just to get hold of their design know-how?! That DBS is breath-taking!!

Also, I wonder what the yellow Turbo was doing there?! A benchmark for the GT2, or perhaps a Powerkit is due out soon?!
