Dock, I heard that there was (is?) a discussion going on at Porsche if the new 911 Turbo shouldn't be more spectacular regarding looks and technical details to cope with the (upcoming) competition.
But I recently heard that Porsche wants to move on according to their initial model strategy, just with a few additions and changes to release dates.
My information is of course based on rumors from Porsche employees, employees of Porsche suppliers, anonymous sources, Users and some friends. It can't be excluded that Porsche plans something radical with the upcoming 911 Turbo but personally, I really doubt it. It wouldn't make sense since all upcoming models like the Cab and C4S will be based on the current 997 and the buyers of 997 models would surely feel very bad if the 911 Turbo would look completely different.
One thing might be possible though: the 911 Turbo could already include the look of the 997 facelift as the 996 Turbo did with the 996 facelift one year before.
The biggest surprise could be the introduction date of the Turbo: it could be earlier than many people thing, I already heard summer 2006 but just today I spoke to somebody who saw a car "somewhere" with camoflage only on the rear and the side air inlets and he said the 997(?) Turbo looks almost ready to go.
