09 facelift RS

Since my lovely dealer no more RS for sale, the salesman said there will be an 09 facelift RS with 3.8L, LED and PDK.

Anyone heard something like that?

According to my dealer, the GT3 RS is not officially limited, but PAG is not building too many. So probably the dealer's allocations are used up.

Even if it is "limited", I wouldn't trust PAG with this. Back in the years of the 996, they said that the (pre-FL MK1) 996 GT3 is limited. Then because of the demand they offered another batch the next MY.

And after the FL the "unlimited" GT3 Mk II -- and then the 996 GT3 RS (which was limited though).

I'm pretty sure that there will be a FL 997 GT3 RS in the future.

I agree as indeed this is not a limited car in the sense the 996 GT3 RS was to commemorate 30 years RS :

agree with you, as there were new 2005 996 GT3 sharing the dealer showrooms with 2005 997 Carrera/S........the only caveat is if Direct Fuel Inj. arrives and closes the horsepower gap too much between Carrera S and GT3 , then maybe GT3 engine will get DFI without necessarily getting any cosmetic changes...should be interesting.

the 996 RS is great, just dont like the headlamp.

cant believe the 997 RS sounds so much better from the same engine.

What I have heard is that Porsche AG is using the RS model as a leverage tool. They tell their dealers, "you want another RS allocation? You have to order ten Caymans and then we'll give you another RS allocation..."

both sounds great, but i think the 997 RS sound even better, probably because of the higher compression and lighter things in the engine.

Reminds me on the Ferrari dealer situation some years ago... order 5 Masers, get one 360/F430.
