    170~ More GT3 RS for '08

    Has there been a thread about this? Does anyone even care?

    I suppose alot of people were under the impression that it would only be produced for one year.

    But I suppose this is another limited run intended for those that were screwed by their poor customer service/relationship oriented dealers.

    Still, it is yet ANOTHER blow to Porsche's crediblity.

    I care if this is true. I have a RS on order for fall delivery and told this will be last run. If there is another 170 + cars (what impact on residuals !) and what will there be a face lifted ones coming ????

    porsche ag announced that the rs will be build for another year period till june-august 08 .
    there will be NO facelift or upgrades on engines etc.,the rs will end like it began.

    seriously i donno whats going on, last week my dealer just told me no rs for sure and now another story here....

    do you mean another whole yr production for the rs?

    That would be great as I won't be able to buy one before the end of the year... and I wouldn't mind about resale value, I'll buy one to drive it !

    Most of these car's will be destined for people who could not get one in the first place due to the bad dealer network.

    I am not sure if this is a global number or just for US. but it is definitely true that there will be an identical 08 GT3 RS.

    That said, i'm sure this concerns 07 owners if for no other reason than that they would feel decieved.

    Not at all, most of us realize and understand that due to Dealer tactics and profiteering that a lot of loyal customers were left wanting. The only people likely to be hurt would be the Speculators because of the increased production. Even there, the additional numbers announced are not likely to tank the car, it is still very limited by historic standards. More so, by the fact that it is an absolute home run for the intended market (drivers not racers).

    The RS is truly a "driver's car" and it will be great to see many more get them to enjoy them, as opposed to speculate on them.

    It has been a long time since Porsche delivered something this good and unique (no, it is not a Cup Car ( which is a Racer's car)).

    Congratulations to all who are lucky enough to get one, and Porsche has done the right thing by its customers by increasing the production. Let's hope they can be creative and make sure that the Dealers put the additional cars in the right hands.

    That's so right!

    But we all know the 997 RS performance is same as the 996 RS, so that show us the "look" is the big saler!

    Suspect GT3RS is still a fair value....need to compare vs direct competitors....

    Compare best 2 yr lease terms a lease broker can get one for 997GT3RS, G SL and 430CS (upon launch)....

    Suspect GT3RS will be cheapest of trio, except for 430CS for repeat F buyers who have the "$0, one-yr depreciation" deal...

    G SL is incred overpriced for a car w/dubious ceramic brakes/egear and ?300 extra lbs vs RS....

    I hear that der will be 08 RS and they will change the Backlight and Engine with DFI.

    in switzerland we wait for add 30 RS ordered last year.

    there will be no changes on engines and exterieur for the rs,definately!!

    for two production years on the rs ,porsche never ever would face lift such a special model much less they change some technical things as engine etc. !!
    the rs is still a special car and will be always a collectors car even if it is not official limited in production,its a homologation modell for the rsr,its no gt3!

    Exactly if Porsche do not want to drive behind all F430 at each GT Race they have to do something.
    the DFI enginge will be the best solution for Air resrictet Cars...don't you think so?

    There will not be any changes in the 08 RS. They would split the collector market with two different RS's.

    CONFIRMED - 170~ More GT3 RS for '08

    Yep, my local new porsche dealer did just confirmed this Sat AM what I heard here: that porsche NA will have 170 RS cars for sale in the US. HOWEVER, there is apparently a waiting list 400+ deep across the US for the RS cars. He told me that he didn't even get any allocations for the 170. Thus, his 5 guys who are on the list are SOL.
