Why is there no Mercedes Bluetec engine on that list

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

Didn't the BMW V10 win something last year too??

BMW always wins (Motor is their middle name). I would vote for the GT3 motor myself...

    BMW always wins something

    From WCF:
Two awards were won by the V10 high-performance engine, which is to be found under the bonnet of the BMW M5 and M6. The 507bhp power package with a capacity of 5 litres received the award "Best Performance Engine of the Year" as in the last two years, and also won in the engine class over 4.0 litres capacity. In 2005 and 2006 this exceptional engine won the "International Engine of the Year" award itself. "The BMW V10 is still unsurpassed", said jury member Jeroen Jongeneel of "De Telegraaf".

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

I'm sure the new 420hp V8 in the upcoming M3 will win next years awards.

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

    Go BMW!!!
The V10 won that award for 3 years running now i think.
SOOOOOO true about the GT3 motor Grant.

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

yeah i would vot for GT3 ..what's so special about all theses engines with turbos winning.. nothing impressive

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

The new BMW V8 420 hp is absent
But at the second place the "old" 3.2

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

it's absent because it's not available for sale yet, should be in the 2008 awards.

Very interesting the domination of german engineering.

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

by next year BMW twin turbo 4 cyl motor will also be in that lineup and im pretty sure it will walk away with a prize as well

    International Engine of the Year 2005: BMW 5-litre V10 (M5, M6)

Yup, my money is on that the new M3 enginge wins both the International engine of the year and the best performance engine of the year awards next year.

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

The F430 and 599/Enzo engines are better than the BMW V10 - why didnt they win instead...?

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

Not according to 62 high-ranking international automobile journalists from 30 countries for the last three years

    Better how

    Good question !
What about the V6 Nissan ?

Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007

I guess they include cost effectiveness as a factor, maybe.
