    Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Here's Nissans answer to the GT2:

    Quote:
The standard GTR is expected to start at $57K while the V Spec and EVO Spec will start at $67K and $94K respectivly. Both a 6 speed and an advanced paddle shifting automatic are to be available. The Standard GTR and Spec V will be equiped with a 480HP version of the VQHRTT engine(displacement is either 3.7 or 3.8L as it has not yet beenn confirmed). The GTR EVO will receive a 530HP version of the VQHRTT engine as well as being roughly 220lbs lighter then the standard GTR, coming with light weight seats, a larger more aerodynamic rear spoiler, large ceramic brake rotors, and a revised Altessa AWD geared for more track use.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

It looks a bit too much "boy racer", but damn that Evo version will be one hell of a car!

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Another shot with the GT-R's good friend and mentor

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

ricer aesthetics don't bother me as much when they appear to be quite functional. The car will be a beast and will offer a new player into the M3 hegemonic sector. The Cayman better take a big gulp.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

The Cayman is not the car in the Porsche line-up that I think of as a competitor for a 480/530 hp 4wd 2+2 coupe, but what do I know

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

yes, but its price point is the same in the US market

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

    Oh, you're one of those
    (Comparing prices, not performance)

I guess that makes the Cayenne Turbo the competitor for the GT-R Evo Spec then, since they have the same price

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

From the rear view it looks like a highly body modded 550 maranello

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

    550 modded without style tough.
I just can't understand why they can pay a proper designer...

Proper designer or not, the standard GT-R is going to be one HELL of a bargain at $57k. I wonder how much it's going to cost here ...

Well some practicality has to be involved. I'm not comparing SUVs with sports cars. I'm comparing similarly priced sports cars, and clearly the Cayman seems a few light years behind its price point competitors...

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

I get your point now. You were dissing the Cayman, not the GT-R

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

This EVO gonna burn all 911, Ferrari and Lambo for Cayman/Exige price.

I remember the last R34 Nismo 500hp GT-R were so scary, this new thing with 530hp must be crazy fast on both street and track.

    But it is fugly.....

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

    It's a pitty, It's so ugly.

But specs (and price>), at least on the paper are really tempting. Let's wait to see interior and overall quality.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Too "Tokyo/ricer " looking for ME. But at least it is proud to show it's national heritage - just as Porsches look German, Ferraris look Italian and Corvettes look American - as they all should .
So many Japanese and Korean cars now are purposefully blandly " world car " looking and put me to sleep from a design standpont.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Should be interesting if it turns out like this and is given a proper interior. Have they decided to make it LHD btw

    Of course LHD too...

I am very interested to get the EVO spec GTR, 530hp turbo 4wd at this price might be a nice pair with my new GT2. Japanese and German cars.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Impressive indeed. No one can just brush this car off including the Z06

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

looking forward to seeing this car hand its german rivals their @$$ back in their hands!

rear looks gr8, not sure bout the rest tho

I think buying the base spec and then modifying to EVO or higher spec will be much more economical. Bolt-on mods for Japanese turbocharged cars are quite cheap with many high-quality vendors to choose from.

I agree about the looks, but if the interior is up to snuff and the performance Porsche-beating, then it will be a very sought-after car.

I think you are right. But maybe you can't buy the hotter Japanese EVO look after market? Anyway, the price is great for such a fast and fun car. There are Japanese culture factor in this car which makes it special just like the 911.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

I think it looks really good- very business-like, ready to kick ass Only problem is the wing

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

Interesting that Nissan may have a better platform for producing a Porsche-like series of price/performance points with the GT-R than Audi can with the R8... Apart from the R10 the Audi seems to me to be a more limited platform.

Of course, Nissan may have more interest in P-like sales levels than Audi, who still claim the R8 is about image etc.

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

    I want one!

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

My friend is working in the Nissan Japan and he said the GT-R EVO is gonna beat the GT2, LP and SL both on track and street!

WoW...for that price the car is wonderful!!

Re: Nissan GT-R Evo Spec - 530 hp!

I'll be more than a little surprised if it beats the 997 GT2 on a dry track!
