    Smoking how often

    I know turbos are prone to smoke at start-up. Mine seems to do this about once every 10 to 15 start-ups. Experts is this normal? I have Fabspeed exhaust with EVO headers, but my car did this before the mods. No problems otherwise, oil comsumption low (less 2 qts with 4K miles), no engine lights.

    mike - i have about 3k on mine and havent had any smoke on start up even after it has sat for acouple of weeks due to generally s--tty weather a couple of times...it also hasnt used any oil...go figure

    You're not driving it hard enough , that's why.
    Mawyatt, my car did the same since day one although it seems to do it less and less frequently. now at over 14k miles, it does it maybe once every 20 startups or so. Oil consumption has decreased as well, from about 1 qt/2500 miles to half that. But it really depends on how you drive the car. Don't worry it is normal, embarrassing in public but normal.

    Mine smokes at initial startup too. It's normal as most have said.

    It's normal. I have asked so many mechanics. Some of it is because of the oil sitting in the Turbos for a while.
