    Re: 430 CS Pix

Why do all the testcars have similar front-rear wheel combos?

    Re: 430 CS Pix

So the question is, do we see a new front bumper (as in case of the 360CS) at the F430CS as well and what is the tape around the rear air vents good for?

It's hard to say what they'll do. It would seem anything different then the current F430 and Challenge car would be less likely. We'll have to wait and see.

    Re: 430 CS Pix

Hopefully the front bumnper will be different than 430!

Don't you think it would seem phony? After all the Challenge car(the proven race version) is pretty much the same as the regular 430. A redesign just for redesign sake?(and so they car charge more)

Well, drastic weight reduction like in the Challenge car is not a viable option for road use.

The tape around the air vents as well as the front will probably accomodate a new intake system and possible engine mapping that requires different aerodynamic feeding. A tweaked exhaust with agressive software and -70 kilos and voila.

Any aesthetic improvements wouldn't hurt the car's chance of sales especially with the successor comming 2008 (?)

    Re: 430 CS Pix

Does this front bumper has smaller elipctal holes than the F430?

Could be... and maybe pushed to the front a bit more, for a more slanted look, no??

I don't think it's the bumper, what we see is the cover above the bumper.

The prototype looking front wheels must be different width or offset. In fact, it seems to me that the front wheel opening is flared, or bulged out.

This would tie in with the Lehmann pic from some time ago of probably the first proto, which has very obviously flared wheel opening.

I'd say this pic doesn't show a F430, nor does it show the upcoming Light Pista. I rather think in this pic we see one of the first test mules of the F430-replacement.

    Re: 430 CS Pix

Thought that too initially, but rear shows a similar gearbox. Admittedly, though, the lower A-arms and attachment structure look different.

Well, gearbox shouldn't be that much different, only much quicker.

    Re: 430 CS Pix

Some noteworthy numbers come from Italy - 525hp, -120kg, 0-100km/h should be possible in 3,5-3,6s, 0-1000m in under 21s

For the LP? If it's the new car with bigger engine, more power, etc., for sure the gearbox would change, no?

Not really. The casing can stay the same while the internals are changed. Same thing with my PC. Looks the same as it did 8 years ago, except that it's like 2386-times faster .

I think Ferrari will work out something better with the aerodynamic.

I meant the F430 successor, not the LP! I guess the replacement for the 430 will get something like the F1 Superfast of the 599, what means even quicker gear changes.

I don't think they have to change the gearbox for the LP. Perhaps improved shifting times as in case of the Challenge Stradale, but basically the same unit as in the F430.

    Re: 430 CS Pix

You know what puzzles me most in this pic? The flared wheel arches at the front axle. No LP prototype seen so far has them, I guess we won't see them at any type of the F430.

So I assume there must be a new car underneath, with a wider track, whick could be a hint for the F430 successor.
