    997 body, completley changed?

    My dealer has shown me yesterday a little morphing video where the 996 was morphed to the 997. It was to seen that the complete back-body (from the roof, where the back window starts) has changed. So the new one is a little more flat.

    So against all discussion, that the new one is only a big facelift, this video demonstrates clearly that the new one is a complete new car (.... still not convinced if I believe this now ).

    He told me that these video could be found on Porsche.com, but unfortunatley I couldn't find it. Maybe someone of you knows where it is?

    Or maybe some people should check www.somepeopleareblind.com

    The 997 has no body part in common with the 996, as far as I heard not even the roof.

    I've heard the doors are common (the exterior, of course)

    Actually from what I read somewhere(autoweek?) the only thing that is common is the roof.

    Confirmed - all parts changed!

    A good friend, works at a company which produces the tools for the steel-punches. He told me that they produce tools for every parts (incl. roof). So the car is really more different as assumend when seeing first!

    Again I have to ask you all to wait until you see the 997 in person LIVE. You'll immediately see the difference, it is much better visible if you see the car LIVE and not on pictures.
    As soon as we get a grip on a 997 or 997S, I try to post a picture with both models (996 and 997) one next to each other. Maybe this helps to convince people that the 997 is something completely new, even if it might look similar to the old thing.
