MKSGR:Wonderbar:A friend's Chiron is scheduled for delivery in late August. I've seen pictures of the construction and the final renderingsconfiguration. Unbelievable piece of automotive achievement.
The most successful Bugatti dealer is actually located in Germany. I was a bit surprised by this...
Perfectly understated car for the affluent German neighbourhood.
From the Clarkson review, LOL:
There’s a secret button that you really don’t want the police to know about. But if you push it, the digital air-conditioning readouts will quietly inform you what speed you’ve been averaging. Often I’d sneak a look. And often it came up with a figure over 120mph. That’s an average. On a mountain road (which was closed to the public, since you ask). Like I said. It’s ridiculous.
But it’s never difficult. Oh, I’m sure Richard Hammond could roll it down a hill, but for the rest of us it’s a doddle. There are no histrionics. The exhaust system doesn’t pop and bang. The engine doesn’t shriek. There are no aural gimmicks at all. And everything you touch is either leather or metal. Unless it’s the badge. That’s sterling silver.

I rather think that the German dealer sells outside Germany or his customers are mostly collectors.
I know a guy in Germany with a car collection who owns two Bugatti Veyron but never drove one of them. Actually, as far as I remember, he never drove any of his Ferrari either and I know he owns a 458 Speciale and the Aperta.

You know the term speedo error, right?
At 200 kph, I would add around 10 kph, at 300 kph, at least 16 kph.
Not that it makes a huge difference, it doesn't matter if the Chiron hits 300 kph in 13.1 or 16 seconds, it is still amazing.

A bit of context here. This car is owned by a close friend with whom I have traveled on many occasions. He is wealthy, but not ostentatious, and has a long and devoted allegiance to Porsche and other fine automobiles. He is unique to me because he is not a collector, but an enthusiast who drives his cars on a daily basis for work and pleasure (918, 991 Turbo S, McLaren SLR and P1, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini, etc., as past examples). He has supported young race drivers, and takes his cars (no matter how exotic) on monthly track days. He will drive his Chiron daily, as well as his other cars including a new Smart!
Regarding the Chiron, he has included me in many meetings with Bugatti engineers and designers, as well as various fine occasions and dinners. He authorized me to post the pictures because he thought the car would be of interest to Rennteamers. A generous and fascinating man...
Woah, pretty cool Wonderbar! Extend our thanks to your friend, wonderful to see this car up close and not in an exhibition setting or the like. Great to hear there are still people who understand that not all things are about return on investment...
