Re: What are interesting destinations in Germany?
How much time do you have and what are your interests ?
There is a road called "Die Romantische Strasse " sp? ( the romantic road )which goes thru some very scenic and historical medieval towns in Southern Germany .
If your time is limited, I suggest South to Munich (stay overnight and have a couple of beers Lol )
I recommend "Die vier Jahreszeiten" sp? ( The Four Seasons hotel )
From there , South to Fuessen ( Neuschwanstein castle )
Btw: if time permits, take some Country roads . Porsche's were not just made for the Autobahn you know. They have some roads down there as smooth as Billiard tables and some even have BANKED curves (God I miss real driving )
Anyway, continue South into Austria . Take the Lech Valley up thru Zuers ,Lech and St. Anton (I do a lot of Skiing there ) If you want to stay in Lech, stay at the Angela or Jagdhaus Monzabohn .
Or, go from Munich to Salzburg and from there thru Innsbruck , St. Anton into Switzerland .
I think Salzburg is definitely worth a detour if you have the time (try dinner in the Peterskeller restaurant)
From St.Anton you can take the Autobahn into Switzerland and from there go South to Milano , Genoa and on to the French Riviera (Monaco, Cannes, St.Tropez etc. )
Then head north to Paris .Stay a couple of days (if you get bored in Paris , there is no help for you )
I'm not mentioning any Restaurants in France, because there is no need (even highway rest stops are Gourmet Lol)
From there , if you like History , go up to Aachen in Germany (Charlemagne's tomb is there .The "Cathedral"was 500 years old when he was buried ,and over 1000 years old when Columbus set sail )
Then down the Mosel River to the Nuerburgring .
Finally ,go down the Rhine valley a ways , on your way back to Stuttgart . It's a very scenic drive thru quaint little towns (wine country) and a Fortress on every hill top .
Another option is to go from Paris to Geneva ,Basel and down the Rhine river valley to "THE 'RING "
Have a great, safe trip .
