    Old and New Cayenne

I stopped by to see the new Cayenne today, no offense to the new owners, but it looks really bland .

Side by side I think the older models look much nicer IMO.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I agree. I hate this mix of smiling air intake and bad looking headlights...

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

count me in, agree totally. I may change my mind when I actually see the new one in the flesh, but as it stands I am so happy we opted to buy the original version a couple of weeks back.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

Maybe this picture can help people decide.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

    The rear.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I can't agree more, I still prefer the old one to the new one.
My Cayenne S is very similar to the one on the pics except for the rims and I think it still compares very favourably.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I'll have to be the first voice to disagree I was in a couple of dealerships over the weekend to try to see if any of them had a car with the chesnut interior (unfortunately they didn't). They both had the old and new models sitting side by side and I have to say that the new look is growing on me fast. It looks much more modern and aggressive from the front. I also so the new 21" wheel option for the first time on a physical car and have to say they look great IMHO. It's a real shame that Porsche didn't bother to do anything with the interior though as I think it could do with a make over, particularly the front seats which lack under thigh support if you have longer legs. I wish they would offer a pull out section at the front of the seat as BMW or Audi do on their sports seats. A greater choice of bi-colour interiors would also have made a nice option. I'd have liked to see black with sand beige for instance.

The only bit of the new design that really grates to my eyes is the cheap looking support stay between the front bumper and the radiator which is highly visible.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

The changes are certainly incremental, but after comparing them several times, I find the new design more appealing and dynamic. My dealer spent the time to walk around the new car with me, pointing out not only the obvious front grill/light changes but the front quarter panel modification (sharper crease in the top), the new mirror, the tail lights (which mimic the mirror design) and the rear underbody. Small changes, to be sure, but they tend to accumulate into a fresher look.

I have seen the new chestnut interior on two basalt black CTs, and it is a stunning combination. One interior had some dark wood trim, the other had the standard aluminum look trim. Both are terrific. The 21 inch rims are attractive as well.

Overall, when the new design changes are combined with direct injection and PDDC, the new package is darn appealing, IMHO...

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

RC's decision to trade in his old Cayenne TT for an old Cayenne TTS (with a lot of options and a large discount) seems to have been a very smart move indeed.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I really like the roundness of the old front quarterpanels. Looking out over the hood from behind the wheel, with the rounded quarterpanels to each side, I'm embarrassed to say, always reminds me of a close-up frontal view of a fit woman in a bikini bottom. Am I alone in this observation?

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

The new CT and CS does not look that great... but the CTT blows the old Cayenne out of the water. The Turbo especially with the fender extensions and 21" wheels looks very aggresive.

    my 2 cents

Not sure what's going on in your mind teamyonex, but I'm just popping down to the garage to erh sit behind the wheel, look over the bonnet/hood and erh play with my gearstick

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I am quite happy with my 2006 CS. Looks aside there was not enough of an overall difference to wait for the 08 model.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I agree with Ron - I don't like the new Cayenne's at all. The new bumpers look too ricer IMO.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

Why follow X5 cue's at the back ? The old shape is the right shape but they needed a slight change to boost flagging sales.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

I like the new shape and feel it is sufficiently changed externally, esp Turbo, but dissapointed that the inside hasn't changed a bit. This is what you see all of the time driving and it would be nice to have tweeked it!IMO

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

everyone seems to forget about the Sport Design Kit????

It looks great to me with the kit on... if i am getting a cayenne turbo, the kit is a must

On the Turbo the only change on the kit is the rear upper valence above the window is a bit longer and their are side skirts.... the front and rear bumpers are the same BUT PAINTED to match color of car.

Which is even less noticeable on a black car, and the side skirts you can get optioned seperately from the sportdesign kit so IMO the sportDesign kit, unlike in the old cayenne, is not worth it.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

Rear tips are a bit dissapointing in size?
Old car has much larger pipes. Kit is not as different in looks as old oine was but still looks pretty good.IMO

I though the same thing... until I saw them in person. They are much bigger in person.

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

Dilip... do you have anymore pics? I need some pics of the white CTT to hold me down until I take delivery in April Thank you kindly!!

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

Well i didnt take alot of pics of the white cayenne but here are the rest and these pics mainley highlights the changes tht have been made to the New Cayenne. The car waiting list is so long over here (6 -7 months) I am still doubtful to pay a deposit on it !!

sorry abt the last pic forgot abt the Tripod lol

    Enjoy the pics !!

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

    Thank you!!!!!!!

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

can onyone confirm if the new sport design side skirts are the same as the old ones? Thanks

    Re: Old and New Cayenne

From the pics I've seen, yes I'd say they are exactly the same which stands to reason as the side panel on the car has not changed.
