    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

    Ouch, that hurts.

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

Not that they'd would admit too

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

most of that will buff right out!

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

Might be inappropriate, but does anyone know what color this is? Hate to re-open the Meteor/Slate debate, but this car sure looks good, particularly with the black wheels, and am getting ready to order some sort of grey GT3.

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

Hmmm.. Thats not that bad to be honest...after seeing the picture of the car looking pristine I thought that it was going to be totalled...

    Meteor.

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

That looks like the gray on the LAMBO Superlegera to me.

    Anymore pics of this car?

    I mean before the accident!

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

What is the point with the funky stick on side skirts???
As well the front splitter with NO brake ducting??

Guess its all about looks....as we see driving ability was sub par

Should have stayed on the boulevard

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

I'm surprised that the wheel at the front on the right was hardly damaged!

I don't think so. There is a large dent above the rear right wheel.

    What's the big deal?

Looks hardly scratched! I wouldn't worry about that - probably only touched a barrier. But you have to say he got off lightly. It could have been much worse!

    Are you sure?

    That's nothing!

The guys in my parking garage did way more than that at no more than 10mph. It really (just about) buffs out. By my experience that's about $6K's worth and 2 months off the road. Better now than in the middle of the track season.

    Re: That's nothing!

This is why I've decided not to track my car.

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

Anyone know why an owner would replace the OEM tail with the horrendous tail he has on it now? I doubt very much that functionally the new tail provided better stability.

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

I sure hope they enjoyed their day at the track. Lets see, you wreck your car while racing it. I would guess that would mean no insurance, a car that is worth a whole lot less when it is time to sale, and you have to pay for it out of your pocket to get it fixed. Glad that isn't me.

you definitely have a point there...but having a GT3 and not racing her, I mean...that's the whole point of that car...now if you aren't competent enough to drive that car as it should be driven, that's a whole different issue...that's why you have to take one step at a time...

    Re: 997 GT3 Track Incident

Hence why I would never buy a car to track.

well if you are interested in tracking a car ( maybe not) you don't have to buy a 100k car to be able to do that..many people choose to track a much cheaper car that has been setup for track use
