    Anyone for a Cayenne coupe?

Though I think it looks better than the regular Cayenne, I still don‘t get the purpose of such cars. yes

The purpose is to replace the sedan. Americans are done with them and don’t want them.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

But that is not something new, and the Cayenne and Macan already do that.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

There is obviously room between a sedan and a true SUV like the Cayenne, Macan is filling some of this gap.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Probably, I mean if they do end up bringing it out to the market then there is probably room as they must have done their homework regarding market research but I just don't see the point myself, they are neither a sedan nor a SUV, impractical IMO, and that is not a car you buy out of passion and emotion like a sportscar, its just a people mover.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Aren’t sedans people movers? Since Panamera was supposed to be the best and I found it boring, they don’t deserve the sport car moniker.

The gap between crossovers and sedans in handling and “fun” has shrunk so much that people will prefer the extra practicality and higher driving position (ie safer) of the crossover without having to go full size of a SUV. A typical suburban family in the USA with kids will have a regular size (or 7 seater) SUV (or minivan) and a crossover as second car. Sedans are left to the lower segment where price matters more than the car itself. You surely remember that since last year crossover have finally taken over the sedans in the USA and that the adoption trend is not decelerating.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

I understand crossovers taking over sedan, higher driving position, trendy, etc.

But I don't think this Cayenne coupe is smaller than Cayenne SUV.  They will be the exact size, and coupe will have less luggage space and will likely cost more.

As a people/luggage mover, I don't see the point of buying this over the equivalent SUV.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

The point is you probably already have a SUV in your household... You don’t need two... For example we have a 7 seater RRS and a Macan. No need for a Cayenne.

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Buyers will look at the badge. laughThis thing will never see off-road trip and will mostly go from home to work/mall.

Luxury oriented...the look is cooler than classic SUV while useless.angry

Look about X6 compared to X5...the useless one  took the market. heart

    We are not the target.

Drive the new Cayenne Turbo... 😉

    Or the new Urus.

Also, there is a reason why people get SUVs, they are comfortable, they add an additional feel of safety, they have more room than a sedan (many women hate estate versions of sedans, my wife would rather walk than drive in an Estate or Minivan) and in certain regions, a SUV can be helpful in winter time. I wouldn't have gotten the E63S without the height adjustment feature of the air suspension.

I love the suv. I love Cayenne. comfortable, safe, spacious, sports, large trunk, good views, if it snows no problem, if you have to leave the asphalt there is no problem, if you have to put it in a circuit is incredible. but I would never buy a Cayenne coupe or an X6.

They don’t need to drive better. They just need to be close enough, and for many of us here, they are...

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

The only reason to buy a sedan is fuel economy. I would personally always pick an SUV if I needed something bigger than a 911 as a sedan is already a compromise to better driving experience.

To this day I've never purchased anything other than an SUV or a 2 door Coupe. My upcoming Tesla model 3 is gonna change that though (fuel economyindecision), if it ever arrives as it has been 18 months since I placed my order!

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Ok need some advice. I have a Macan turbo, in London, it is the family car, the nanny uses it to pick the kids up from school, etc. 3 years old and actually it is the perfect car apart from one pretty major detail, namely, the V6 which really sounds like a sewing machine. So thinking about upgrading to a V8 Cayenne. Major issue I have with it is, it is 60mm wider, and when it comes to the nanny driving it and London width restrictions, that actually makes a difference. My toy at home btw is a 993 4S, but reality is the SUV gets the use. Should I upgrade or not. Macan turbo is perfectly specc‘d from new, nothing I would change, but the engine lacks character. Thoughts welcome?!? :)

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Your reasons don't correspond with the extra pounds, just keep what you have - the nanny drives it anyway

Re: Next Cayenne generation approaching fast... (2018)

Exactly, if it's mostly driven by the nanny, there is no need to upgrade.

You give a Porsche to the nanny to drive? Can I be your nanny too? smiley

I would keep the Macan turbo and then buy a Tesla model Y... Perfect for a city and a family.

Isn't the Cayenne Turbo the only V8 left and all other's are V6 ?

How about an Audi RS4 Avant V8? (B8 series from 2012-2015) Smiley

    Engine and Performance

We should celebrate the RS4’s heart and soul. You may be familiar with it from the B7 RS4 and the original RS5 but it’s worth a recap: 4.2-litre V8, 444bhp at 8250rpm and 317lb ft at 4000-6000rpm. Here it drives all four wheels through a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch paddleshift gearbox with a steady-state torque split of 40/60 front to rear, a crown-gear centre differential and Audi’s torque-vectoring Sport rear diff. Press the start button and enjoy the deep, intense hit of highly tuned V8. It pulsates and percolates around the gorgeous interior...
