    Need advice on 996 TT Cab

    I have the opportunity to get into a 996 TT Cab. The cab is about 6 months old, with 900 miles. My car is a 2002 996 Carrera 2 with about 26000 miles. What is a fair value for my car? The MSRP on the TT Cab is 151,000, what is a fair value to pay for the TT Cab? Please let me know ASAP.

    I've been tracking 2002 C2 prices pretty closely. They've been hanging in the mid-Sixties for the last 6 months and are starting to nose down into the $60K range and will probably start to dip under that in the Autumn when two things happen: a bunch of 2002 come of their 3 year leases and the 997 is released.

    Your value may vary, of course, depending on option. You'll see higher asking prices -- and there are some who buy at asking price -- but I think the low to mid-Sixties for an average 2002 with average miles is what you'll see.

    Can't help on new Turbo Cab prices, but I would offer this piece of advice: if you can afford it, and if that's what you want, don't sweat a few grand here or there on the value of your current car; work on getting the best value on the new one, get the car you want, and drive off into the sunset loving it!

    It's about the car, not the deal.
