Whoopsy:This black one is also a 7 speed dogleg

Found this up for sale - pretty nice, I thought... ASTON MARTIN V12 Vantage 5.9 S
Also a dog-leg, and marked down a bit. I like the colour, too

Whoopsy:JoeRockhead:Very nice Nick. Do you have space in your garage for it?
Well no.It's ok though. I am rotating my Porsches via the Porsche dealer right now. They actually have 3 of my cars right now.
Not a bad strategy.

Tempting now isn't it? Especially when the price came down quite a bit!
I fell for one

Go for it Dave

nberry:Nick, great looking car. Very elegant and classy. Unfortunately, black hides the magnificent lines of the car.
I beg to differ. Black is actually the best colour to show off lines on cars. The deep black acts as a mirror and highlights the curves from reflections.
White/silver cars would be the colours that would hide the curves, as every angle would be washed out.
Not my car, just a photo off the internet. See the high spots on the curves reflecting the sky?
Whoopsy:Rossi:Better still (IMO)...
Unfortunately I don't like any of the 50 shades of grey or sliver
That's the reason why you didn't choose this gorgeous Hurracan Spyder in Grigio Lynx and went with this boring black again...
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

You guys know me soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo well.
Nick, for black to look good on a car, it needs perfect lighting and a terrific photographer.
Onthe road, black is almost indistinguishable from all other black and dirty cars.

That's good then, even cops won't even notice me
crayphile:Whoopsy:That's good then, even cops won't even notice meBut they will hear you for sure. These Astons make a helluva sound which I guess partly makes up for how poorly they handle. But seriously, Congratulations
Haha yes, I heard those Astons before and they sounded intoxicating!
Sat in one in the showroom before and tried the shifter, about 4 steps down from the one on the 911R, but I don't care as the Aston is just too damn sexy to pass up. Don't even care if it handles properly, it won't get driven fast enough on the street to matters.
Congrats! There is another esteemed Renteam member who now has a V12VS Manual too, but I think he is keeping quiet on here!
Anyway, a couple of pics from Kermit and his recent friends over here in the UK!
Last week :
and one from earlier today :
Cayman GT4, Racing Yellow, PCCB, 918 Style Full Buckets
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Dogleg Manual, Kermit Green, Buckets
I shall say no more until he wants to post himself.
There are a few more than 6 in Europe, not sure where you got that number from.
The Viridian Green car above is a manual so that's 2 in one photo, but that said they are still quite rare. The consensus on the AM forums is that full production number is likely about 100 V12VS Manuals in the UK, plus a handful more in the ROW, but don't forget AM have just announced the AMR V12 Vantage of which there are another 100 worldwide (US excluded I think), most of which seem to be being ordered with the 7sp Manual also.
So maybe 350 worldwide if you combine with the AMR model?

Astons are surely very very far from being amongst the best cars out there....but they have an aura that few other cars have. whenever I drive my Rapide S I never receive anything but compliments and looks of approval....
congrats on a fine car that is very different from your other (perfectionist) cars.
One advantage of the Astons is that you don't get that ricer moniker that you get with some other cars like the GT3. People are mostly curious because they don't see many on the road. Even loud, they are more easily accepted.
Here is another shocker.
I have decided to let go of the F12 to make room for the Aston.
It was my quasi daily but with a Turbo S Exclusive incoming that daily job can be handled by the Porsche.
Don't really need 730HP for a daily street car, and the F12 wasn't that great on the track either. I have gotten over chasing mega HP for street cars. The 600HP Turbo S Exclusive will be perfectly fine and good enough. And yes, I have a 700HP GT2RS coming, but that car is an RS and that means I can play with it on the track.
Now dropping even lower for the V12 Vantage S and I have no regrets.

Seems a yet another one gets slowly tired of the manufacturer with the prancing horse, we read that several times here before...

No he's getting older with a saggy bottom - prototypical Aston V12 customer .. And Yes I know the Ferrari equivalent has a big gut too !
