    GT3 to upgrade to 3.8L engine?

    I heard that the GT3 will go to the 3.8L engine possibly next year.(or soon?) Anyone else hear this? This came from a Cup racer guy(who suggested waiting for that) I didn't pay much attention at the time plus I haven't researched this at all so curious.

    It's hard to keep ahead of the P curve for long the way they operate

    I doubt that very much. Best way of understanding what will happen in the future is to look at what Porsche did in the past. There were 4 years between the 996 GT3s. I don't think there will be a new GT3 in another 4 years. In fact, I don't think there will be a new GT3 until the 998.

    True, but for example there was a time when the "S" version followed after the regular version launch but with the 997 that wasn't the case, so so much for history. The cup guy said that they've been having problems with the 3.8L racing engine and that's why they opted for the 3.6 with the GT3 until they got the bugs out. This guy could just be tooting his horn.

    So maybe we'll see a 3.8 for the 998!
