    my new toy...

    hi guys... i went today to the bmw, renault, alfa,mini dealer that is a friend of mine ,to say hi , i saw this megane rs sitting in the showroom, i liked the look, he told me to go and try it, i did, i found it much superior in every aspect to my modded mini cooper S , half an hour later ,and after an AMAZING deal , went home with it ...
    i will post detailed impressions later, but first thing that i loved about this car is that it reminded me of my previous lancia integrale, same type of engine, meaning a high pressure turbo ( 1.1 bar) , much better IMO than the currend trend of low pressure turbo a la golf gti...

    oh i forgot that renault is still not imported to the us.. its a 2 liters turbocharged 4 cylinders , with an amazing chassis..very fun car to drive..

    yes its a free option when you order leather interior. BTW its orange stitching and seatbelts

    I'm envious of the options you have in Europe for this range of cars (Megane, Clio, Focus RS) compared to America where there is very little

    you are right for the options, these cars are very well equipped, my megane has: panoramic glass roof, all leather, xenons, rain sensor,light sensor, tyre pressure monitoring system, auto diming mirrors,retractable mirrors, colored stitching,colored seat belts,cruise control,speed limiter,18 inch black wheels etc..
    the cornering is at least as good as the S , it has more of a rally car behavior

    That's a really sweet ride. I wish Renault were in the USA. But don't go criticizing the GTI Mine has been good to me so far.

    gti is a nice car, had one last summer..but couldnt get used to the turbo that stops blowing air @ 4k rpm... i am not criticizing , just giving a humble opinion

    Dimitri, that looks pretty sweet, I must say!
    I tried to find the specs on the car, but we dont have this model/version in Denmark.
    It's the F1 version, right?
    230 BHP, 310nm, 0-100 in 6.5 secs, 236km/h v-max.
    Turbocharged, 4 cyl...and front wheel drive?
    Correct me if I'm wrong and please give us some more infor and pictures of your new baby

    Let's also hear some more driving impressions.

    Its beautiful Dimitri..even with orange seatbelts! They seem to work well with the its colors. Its a sharp looking car.

    I always wondered what that car was realy like to drive. The french car have a reputation to have fun chassis, but I have never tried it realy.
    How about all that power to the front wheels ?

    yes these are the specs.. the f1 version comes with the same tech specs but with stripes on the bumpers, specific blue or yellow color, stiffer suspension(very track oriented) and less options..
    the chassis is great on those cars, very precise,and the tail likes to go sideways but comes back to its place when you want via the steering wheel. it also has big brembo brakes with a very good stopping power .but what i like most is the turbo boost, you really feel the 1.1 bar.

    you are right about the power, you should never floor it unless you firmly hold the steering wheel..
