Help! H&R vs Eibach vs Techart SPRINGS???

just looking to lower my 997 C2 a little for a more aggressive look. any recommendations on which company to go w/ for springs? what's the difference between these brands? any suggestions?

    thanks!

    Techart Springs are H&R springs

As far as I can tell there are only two Springs, Eibach and H&R. I have a set of Eibach for sale if you are interested, never used. $200 plus shipping.

Re: Techart Springs are H&R springs

Not sure of the difference, but I have H&Rs on my 997S. The ride height is perfect; the ride quality is firm -- sometimes irritating over rough surfaces and when the tires are cold. I never drove the car without the H&Rs, so I can't compare the difference.

If my memory serves me well, someone else recently posted pics of his 997 with Techart springs. Supposedly, Techart sells their springs (either the Eibach or H&R) with less of a drop. Try a search (if it works); it was a silver 997 with Kinesis wheels. Great looking car.

Re: Help! H&R vs Eibach vs Techart SPRINGS???

I think you are talking about my car, if so, thanks.
Yeah techart is made by eibach.
there are basically only 2 manufacturers eibach and H&R, all the other companies, gemballa, techart, cargraphic, rinnspeed contract them to make springs with different rates and levels of drops.
from my experience techart is a very non aggressive minimal drop, it looks like it sits the way it should have come from the factory, whereas some of the other springs you notice the drop right away.

Re: Help! H&R vs Eibach vs Techart SPRINGS???

Mine has H&R, and I simply love the way the car looks now...

Re: Help! H&R vs Eibach vs Techart SPRINGS???

Does anyone know why 997's are so 'jacked up' in the back? The standard 997 has about 2 1/4 inch gap between tire and fender and the front looks to be about 2 inches..

Is this to counter oversteer? Has to be by design..cuz it looks goofy from the factory..

Also, can't you just lower the car to spec? For example, lower the rear 1 1/4 inches and the front 1 inch so that the car looks evenly lowered. Even aftermarket sprgings like H&R's it looks that the front is lower than the rear..does look better though.

    Thanks all..from a future 997 owner!

I think it's for US bumper height regulations. Plus, in America we're in love with SUVs.
