martini964:
Nice. I've had several long phone calls with Magnus - very nice guy and generous with his time and info.

BjoernB:well you could never pass legal immatriculation here.....
Well, I can confirm that with my experience of this afternoon . I had to go for the inspection of my 997 Carrera 2S . It did not pass because I have '' aviation type '' brake hose and the paper I have for them is not accepted anymore . I have them since 2009 but now, it seems that the only way to have them approved is with a different certification that seems to be nearly impossible to get ...... In Switzerland it gets very, very difficult to have any non original parts on your cars .

martini964:whats not to like, 3.8l, ITB ( Grant,we just talked about that,lol ), GT3 manifold, sleeper.....even has a fender grill too
Yep, I was thinking the same. Says it puts 300hp to the wheels which is 353 hp at the engine if you figure 15% drivetrain loss. That is a nice number for a 3.8L (very healthy, but not stressing the motor too much - this really happens severely at 100 hp/L or higher). My car would weigh 500 to 600 (~250kg) pounds less than Magnus' with the same motor and I also have custom low/close gearing in my geartbox in addition. Would be quick...
I may have to call Magnus and see who built the motor for him (most likely Rothsport or Ed Pink).

Sounds like a great idea - now I just need to decide in which year I can afford to pay for such a motor
Currently, all my funds (and then some more) are committed to new 991.2 GT3. Going to be awhile to decide which car to keep (first world problem)

Superbe ! I had the plan to do the same to my 4 then what he did to his in this video.
When i spoke to my local " Porsche guru "' he advised me not to do it for the following reasons : my car has distinct non sporty specs with the inside and outside colors + wooden dash . It would loose all it 's value . And the car would also become quite hardcore for a DD.
That s how we moved onto the Carrera 74' project ... that is still on waiting mode.
The other day he told me he s got a completely modified 964 Carrera 4 coming in. If I was interested .
A few weeks back I had my front steering rack completely redone by ZF . My car feels now so much better. I didn't even know I was driving for the last 2 years with a steering that was not as it should be. I always complained about how heavy it felt. Now it is so much more enjoyable.
I just hoped my car would be in a more fun color , then I would probably do all the Changes. The 4 in the video looks so much fun to drive.

I had to bleed it and now I'm sure its working but the steering is heavy again.Im done this year with 964,Now other project is coming .......

Mine is oak green with beige interior ...
I did not know you had also a 993 And is the 3.8 RS extra ?
I am not aware if my AWD does not work ( I did not drive my car too much since I got it back , only in sub urban areas )
The diff lock does not work for sure . Does yours work ? And the different warning lights are always on ...but that seems normal .
Last week, had also to change alternator and all the '' cables '' .

My 964 is bone stock. and NO " different warning lights are always on ...but that seems normal ",lol if the front diff is not working, you almost loose 30% of power that goes to front. but it no harm to car tho.my alternator died when I was giving a ride to my wife for her very important exam , never forget that....
just replaced clutch and its just smoke everything on fist gear
The 993 is vice versa.it was my track car as has all RS goodies.very light and tuned suspension from a guy who do this for over 40 years. and now I'm putting everything back to road car. its not 3.8 yet,Im shopping parts to do it by end of this year, it will have ITB too.
I do all mechanical/electrical things by myself, just happens to have a good mechanic that could guid me through stuff.
