    Yellow Instrument Dials

    Hello,

I am planning on guards red TT with sand beige interior. Black dials are no longer available; I don't like the white surface so am thinking of yellow instrument dials.

I've seen this combination of colors in Ferrari's and love it, but have never seen it in 997's. If you have pictures, please post or send to my email cannga@pacbell.net .

The cost for this option is close to being obscene, btw.

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen that colour scheme in a Porsche, but I don't think sandbeige and yellow go together well. In a Ferrari you only have one yellow highlight which is the revv counter, in the Porsche you would have five of them.

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

Do remember that even if you choose yellow instrument dials, the analogue dial of the sport chrono timer will still be in an aluminium colour. Can you live with that discrepancy?

(I'm assuming you are picking Sport Chrono - it would be a pity not to given the 'overboost' feature it provides in the 997TT).

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

I dont think it will go with it..... here is a yellow instrument dials on my tt

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

biege, red and yellow on the tt will not have the cohesive look of the ferrari...imo go red if you must have colored dials

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

I'v seen sand beige dials on a sand interior with sand leather everywhere. Didn't look good.

I'm sure you can have black dials if you can have them in sand beige. Might cost you a lot though.

Here's an exemple, but it's the darker beige. So I'm not sure in wich color the dials are.

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

I appreciate all the comments, please keep them coming. It's hard to visualize what the combo will look like so your inputs are helpful. It appears yellow dials work with black leather; I too am not so sure about sand beige in a guards.

Even the comment from the "Ferrari owner" is appreciated. Just kidding, Rossi. I actually found yours particularly interesting. I did NOT realize/remember only one of the dials is yellow in Ferrari's??!

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

    1.

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

Of course, yes to the Sport Chrono!

    MMD,

How do you manage to ALWAYS find the exact answers to everyone's questions??!

Are there more pictures wherever you found this (URL/web site?)? As always, thank you.

I've been around a while and have learned a great deal from the guys around here that know more than I do. I'm just glad to help.

The cost for my helpfulness: you *may* have to listen to my occasional rants because you didn't ignore them fast enough.

Pictures, I just collect them and file them away. Gives me great pleasure to be able to illustrate or help clarify someone's concerns with pictures.

Good to be appreciated and I'm glad to help!

Oh, only one more yellow guage pic from me:

    No problem, mate.

BTW, the "Ferrari owner" went with the standard white dials in the Carrera S. Looks very nice with the cocoa interior IMO.

If you stay with beige interior in a red car and want a special colour for your dials, perhaps you should go with red ones. Did you check in the Porsche configurator?

Here's a pic of the yellow revv counter of a F430:

And this is how it looks like, if Ferrari does a natural brown interior with carbon inserts and yellow revv counter.

IMO the yellow gauges don't fit to the sand interior.

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

    Rossi:

Thanks for the pics of the Ferraris. Freeking GORGEOUS. Bold and elegant at the same time (B&E _is_ Ferrari: wow). Those guys KNOW design. What a thrill.

    Re: Yellow Instrument Dials

    Rossi,

I appreciate the Ferrari's pics. It IS a gorgeous interior.

I agree, Porsche yellow dials in sand beige is at best so so, and clash with the white chrono. Think I'll stay w/ white.

Thanks again everyone for the helpful replies.
