Speaking of low end torque; I bought a 2016 Cayman GTS (found one of the last few left back in January), and I must confess that I could use a bit more torque at lower revs, and I could do with less noise. The sport exhaust sound is not as musical as on my 2008 Boxster RS60's sport exhaust; it just a lot of harsh noise...

y0ukz:I have a 718 base cayman, and I am in love with her. She has the sport exhaust, even though it couldnt match the 6 cl sound, is good enough and people like it. It is amazing how powerful is considering is the entry level to the porsche sportscar lineup.

We see far too few photos of cars from the lower line spectrum. Rennteam only knows the super and hyper cars.

It was never so elitist in the good old days of RT. Sadly that's why I don't visit as much as I used to 
But here's one of our Boxster GTS in bad need of a clean whilst on UK tour a couple of weeks back

Less than 400 Boxster GTS imported to UK and last time I looked only three pre-owned ones on Porsche UK website. It's an amazing car and I still get a buzz every time I drive it and listen to that amazing engine and exhaust

Went to my dealer recently, saw a nice black Boxster S 718 there...100k EUR. 
Looking at the lease cost, it was over 1500 EUR per month (no initial payment) for a 36 months lease. Just crazy... Of course I could get it cheaper but even 1200 EUR per month...for a Boxster S? Seriously?! 
My Audi dealer offered me a R8 V10 (non Plus) Coupe for 1200 EUR per month a while ago...

... and one has a four-cylinder and sounds like a four-cylinder, the other one has a V10 and sounds like... a V10.

Quite agree - here in the UK GBP 70k + for a four cylinder sports car with a few options - even a Porsche - is crazy money. 
Sadly I think my Porsche buying days are over

Agreed. We are not elitist and I often complain about certain prices for certain cars but this doesn't mean we support praising certain cars without a reason. The Boxster is a nice little sports car but it is one of many. Rennteam is not a website where owners brag about their cars but where owners report their experiences and post some nice photos. Actually, I'd say that Rennteam is the most "honest" website when it comes to cars because owners report the good and the bad and many even own various different cars. Every Boxster owner is more than welcomed to post his experience and post photos, we all appreciate it. However, the Boxster is one of many...like I said before.

Agreed. Look how diverse too, some have always the latest newest cars and flip every year, some just like sport cars, any kind any price, some have older ones and hang on to them forever, some have very unique cars only few people in the world own, and some own true vintage car icons.
Sadly Porsche ridiculous prices is putting a lot of people off the new models. That said there are still great used cars out there, cars age a lot better than they did 20 years ago.

It seems to be, what we call in England “Catch 22”. There is minimal posts here about Boxster / Cayman (apart from GT4) so any new blood coming here looking for Boxster / Cayman talk sees very little and goes elsewhere. When I first joined the Rennteam Family 13 years ago there was a very healthy Boxster community, we used to arrange regular meetings. We’ve met some really great people, too, Reginos, Porsche-jeck, wtsnet, RichC, John H, Dr.Phil easy-rider to name some that spring to mind. John H is now the only one who contributes here regularly. So but it has sadly and gradually faded away. When we received our latest Boxster GTS there was quite a good discussion, unfortunately it nearly all disappeared with the unfortunate data loss saga. Only the top end cars now have much following here, and I fully accept it’s not the fault of Rennteam, but hence a feeling - to me at any rate, rightly or wrongly - that RT has gone up market and away from all bar the most exclusive cars and wealthy individuals.
