    Signed the papers

It is done... after quite some time wondering what to do I signed the papers for a new 997 Turbo today. Manual transmission, meteor grey with painted rear and side skirts, black leather with full red stitching, sunroof, sport seats, short shifter, LSD and some other irrelevant options. Delivery June/July.

    Come summer...

    Re: Signed the papers

Hope one of the irrelevant options was a sport chrono...

    Re: Signed the papers

Haha, obviously... didn't think you could order one without

    Re: Signed the papers

Congrats! Red stitching? I would think heated seats would be nice in Zurich as well...

    Re: Signed the papers

Did you make sure that your gear shift leather trim would have the red stitching? Many folks seem to overlook this one small item. I think that it's under the 09991 all-inclusive deviated stitching for exclusive items. Might want to double check with your dealership about that.

    Re: Signed the papers

Warning: you NEED the DAD option (Alu/Leather shifter and handbrake) as well.

AFAIK 09991 only covers Exclusive options. If your shifter boot is standard (that case also includes the optional CF/wood shifters), then it's not covered by 09991. DAD is an Exclusive option so it is definitely covered.

Option CDZ (gear trim leather; it ties together the boot with the PCM) is also strongly recommended in any car with deviated stitching.

Congratulations on your purchase otherwise. You're going to have one hell of a summer.

    Re: Signed the papers

congrats on the beast !!!!!, meteor is probably the best colour for the 997 turbo !!

Did you had in mind the 997 gt3???

    good luck with the waitttttt!!!!!!

    Re: Signed the papers

    Congratulations!!

You've got quite a bit of a turnover on your stable

    Re: Signed the papers

Thanks guys, yes I did quite a lot of research on this excellent forum to get the stitching together. Thus, what I ordered for the interior was:

    - 24891 Deviated stitching front/rear seats in Guards Red
    - 24901 Deviated stitching dashboard in Guards Red
    - 24902 Deviated stitching doors in Guards Red
    - 24903 Deviated stitching door handles in Guards Red
    - 24904 Deviated stitching side center console in Guards Red
    - 24905 Deviated stitching rear side panel in Guards Red
    - 09991 Deviated stitching all exlusive options in Guards Red
    - DAD Gear lever and hand brake lever aluminium
    - CDZ Silly plastic thing in leather
    - CFG Floormats with borders in Guards Red
    - XMZ Center console leather
    - XNS Steering column casing leather
    - XPA Thicker three-spoke sports steering wheel
    - XSB Sports seat backrest in leather
    - XSC Porsche crest embossed on seat
    - XSX Seat belts in Guards Red
    - XTV Door finishers in leather

If anyone can think of something I have overlooked, please let me know.

raclaims, yes I did get heated seats.

Alex18_996CC, yes I did consider the GT3. In the end I decided the Turbo was a more "sensible" choice.

Matt C, thanks. Well you only live once, gotta make the best out of it

    Re: Signed the papers

    Awesome spec.

I would add two last options: CUV Storage Compartment Lid With Model Logo. The stock lid does not have the double stitching on the sides that the rear console otherwise has. It would stick out like a sore thumb in a deviated stitching interior. The optional lids (it's available with either the model logo, or the Porsche crest) fix that.

Second option is the leather sun visors. The stock plastic visors are a disgrace in a Euro 150k+ car. I'm bringing that up since you did not explicitely mention it, but if you have already ordered them, please disregard that.

    Re: Signed the papers

Agreed on both the CUV (model logo) and leather sun visors. I have both and it adds a niced personalized touch to the car.

    Re: Signed the papers

    Fantastic specs! Many congrats bluelines!!

How about adding some of the following 'irrelevant options'? (if, as it appears, you have no budget limits!):

    342 Seat heating
DAA interior package A-pillar in leather
DAB interior package B-pillar in leather
DAC interior package C-pillar in leather
XTG Inner door sills in leather
XZD Interior light surround in leather
CVW rear view mirror in leather
    CNA defroster trim in leather
CNB defroster air vents in leather
CUJ fuse box trim in leather
CVT door and rear speakers in leather
CVZ BOSE subwoofer outlets in leather
CXB door entry guards in stainless steel (with illuminated model logo)
CDT seat belts fasteners in leather
    CPU key pouch in leather
    XNG Instrument surround in leather

    Re: Signed the papers

Bravo, Very well done.. I completely agree with what Groom and Atomic said..

    Re: Signed the papers

    Nice

    Re: Signed the papers

Has ANYone ordered a non-sport-chrono car? maybe it would be just as good for an aftermarket tune?

    Re: Signed the papers

I don't have the specifics in front of me but at the top of my head there is: leather hood/trunk release
Headliner with A/B pilliars in leather
Switch panel leather (has several options already mentioned included in it.)

    Short shifter
    Fire Extinguisher

Thats about all I can think of that hasn't been discussed.

    Re: Signed the papers

I think in europe you can get MPSC's mounted on the car.

    Re: Signed the papers

What are MPSCs? Sorry for being ignorant.

    Re: Signed the papers

Sure would be great if US customers could specify the tire manufacturer with their order (please check only one box below). I don't think you would find too many P zero's or Bridgstones on the request list.

    Re: Signed the papers

They switched the tires for free on my last car as I didn't want contis... You just need to tell then when you order the car.
