I also find it hilarious that some say that they destroyed the resale value by producing more cars. It is just plain selfish. So you were in the inner circle and drove a car for free and now it doesn't work anymore so you go somewhere else? Sad trait of human nature.

I think people here are thinking of jumping ship because of those "package deal", or the inability to get cars they want, not because of resale value.

I myself have had my share of money loss from Porsche cars, but I have to say the loss was less than other brands, and driving experience was better.  No regards at all.

I have mixed feeling about 918 owners having first dip to all special cars in Canada.  I think there currently are at least 5 original 918 owners in Vancouver (one is our good friend Nick).  Basically, any special cars that come into Vancouver with less than 5, I will have zero chance to buy it unless one of 918 owner passed, which is unlikely.  Without this VIP thing, I am sure I can get any special Porsche that I want.Smiley

Tim, I thought the 918 VIP program only applied to the US. Also, it's my understanding that in the US allocations given to the 918 VIP's do not reduce the number of allocations to the dealership. In others words, VIP allocations do not count against the total given to the dealer.Smiley

Look around, how often do you see GT3s, Turbo/Turbo S vs GT3RSs?

On the Internet (sales sites) you see the GT3RS much more often than turbos...

It's just means more of the existing GT3RS are being advertised for sale. It doesn't mean it was produced in greater number.

Remember, a lot of people who actually wanted the GT3RS is just for 'investment'. Just like the 911R.

    Slight correction. Smiley

Of the original 5 from Porsche Vancouver, only 2 left, me and the Chinese kid. The Langley car is still with the original owner.

You actually have a very good chance to get just about any car you want now. The wild card is Cyrus, he sold his 918 already but seems like Porsche Vancouver is still giving him priority.

Canada has a modified VIP program that wasn't publicly disclosed, didn't really need to as originally it only concerned like 27 individuals and now that list is down to 15 or less.

The VIP first dib status is there as long as one keeps their 918. Once it's sold the status is gone.

For number limited cars, Porsche Canada is the one assigning allocations to the customers then the allocation is assigned to the selling dealership.

For non-number limited cars, Porsche Canada works the same way as PCNA. 918 customer cars don't takeaway from normal dealer allocations. 918 customer orders automatically takes priority within the system, so they get allocations first even before dealers gets their own. But that only happens with newly launched cars which are in hot demand. But for normal cars, like my Cayenne Turbo S, my dealer actually sold me their production slot and didn't request a replacement from Porsche Canada.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Your dealer was probably happy to get rid of a turbo S allocation, at that price they cant sell that many...

The VIP program was fair. Porsche was struglling to sell 918s for a period of time as many people like me turned them down partly because of the significant increase in sticker price vs the CGT and the then unproven hybrid tech.

It seems to be the same story with pre-owned cars angry

I  DON'T like the black "plastic" part in the lower rear. Needs to be taken out i.e extra paint in the external color of that part or spec your self a black car.....yes Look very cheap IMO and even cheaper on a 300k euro car....mail
