I heard rumours of a 460hp version to compete against Mr RC's car How ironic that he already HAS an ML AMG!
The engine is the new 6.3V8 under development that has some 500bhp and 600Nm NA. AMG probably tuned this for more torque and less hp (460hp) for the ML considering its weight.
Bilal, you're right. The ML63 AMG or whatever the name will be will have lots of power, no doubt about it. But it isn't only the power which counts and I'm also afraid that the new ML isn't bigger than the old one, Mercedes probably wants to offer two versions, a short and a long one.
My Cayenne was surprisingly bigger inside, I didn't expect that. My wife has full leg room and my little girl behind her in the rear seat can still stretch out her feet without touching the front seat. Luggage room is the same but winning some interior room is very convenient for us.
Of course the new ML will be a fine SUV and probably lighter than the Cayenne. But how will it drive? I testdrove the SLK 200 Kompressor lately and although the steering feel has improved, I can't feel much difference in overall handling compared to the "old" SLK. Maybe the AMG version will be better but I'm a little bit disappointed.
Power isn't everything, Bilal. Otherwise I would have sticked to my E55 AMG.
But of course I'd love to see 600 HP in the Cayenne.
