    Chip Upgrade

Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions on upgrading the ECU for a 2006 997 S? Any problems with the Porsche warranty?

    Re: Chip Upgrade

You will loose your warranty (on engine and tranny), you will gain very marginal HP. Don't do it. If you needed more HP, you bought the wrong car (GT3 or TT)...

Warranty issues are dependent upon your dealer. I flashed the ECU (GIAC) w/ a EVOMS cold air intake and added PSE to my C2 by my dealer w/o affecting the warranty. I'm pretty happy w/ the results. But then again it's not going to be a GT3

I had it done on my 05 C4S and I am thinking about doing on my 06 C2S. The will give yoy a free trail which will last fo 8 hours of driving. If you like it you can go back and buy it for a $1000.00 The dealer will not know about it and if they suspect anything they will reset your computer. You can always go back to these guys and they will re-flash your ECU at no cost.

I'm not so sure about this statement. According to a senior porsche tech, once you flashed the ECU. The computer entry record is not eraseable and the dealer will be able to tell whether the ECU was flashed or not.

That maybe true but Revo-technic rep disagrees. If so, these guys will reset the car to it's original factor setting, you can then take your car to the dealer take care of what you need to and then take it back for re-flashing, they will do it at no extra cost.

    Re: Chip Upgrade

this is an issue that we all go through soon after owning our porsche... we want MORE POWER! all you need to do is work harder, save more, and upgrade to a GT3 or TT :-)

    Re: Chip Upgrade

As the line goes, it's not the car, it's the driver....spend your money on PDE or other driver's ed stuff....I have raced cars and a good driver in a rental can blow the doors off an average driver in an exotic....no offense.
