I don't have any release dates but I suppose 18-24 months later after 997 introduction.I guess right now Porsche wants to sell the 997 S because production is cheaper (different engine, gearbox, etc.).
I also heard that the 997 GT3 is rumored to be much sportier than the current GT3, maybe even too sporty for some current GT3 owners.

Can a sports-car ever be too sporty?
It's pretty easy for them to become too sporty for normal transportation. They can drive you nuts and take up a lot of time in maintenance. Daily transportation in a highly tuned car can be miserable for both the driver and the car.
But, for sporty driving or racing, you're correct, they can never be too sporty. The fewer compromises, the more intense the experience.

You can be sure to see a GT3 again (maybe with another name).
As Porsche needs this cars for the Cup-Serie, they will definatley bring out a Racecar again. And - as always, they will bring it again in two versions. Not that I would know any specifics, but I couldn't assume it different!

I just can't immagine...
if the 997 S is just two seconds slower than the GT3 MK1 at the Nurb immagine the new GT3 how fast would be...
may be 430 HP, 1230 kg....

In other words, the 997 GT3 will be a less daily driver than the current model. I guess "Turbo" sales will raise then!
