Honestly they look practically the same in these pics. The rear would differ more though.

I agree wholeheartedly, except that the 997 started the trend with the rectangular centre inlet, something which they tried to keep and expand upon in the 991 version. IMO, this rectangular shape clashes with the design language of the 911 and the designers damn well know it. It is probably done to make the model look purposeful and form over function... Well, all I can say is: "Meh!"

This is the Porsche I want. Totally bad ass and worthy of the performance they want to achieve. I'll pass on a 700 hp 911 with a giant wing and contrasting carbon hood.

Black on black or maybe Throt's sea blue will be great on the GT2. Weissach smiley All to get the ugly black part on the lower back "disappear"..... Looks really cheapheart

Think I'll go with black. Then the rubber marks from tracking won't be so obviouskiss

It is a factory car. EM = Entwicklung Motorsport. I assume the person has driven quite a few 911 before Smiley

Does that make it less of a mistake?  It is not a big deal but you must admit as a 911 driver that we all under estimate the overhang coming from the old aircooled cars especially. After a few kisses one learns the distance to the front. Your assumption that the licenceplate belongs always to a good driver may be true but so is my observation that an experienced 911 driver should know better.   Like I said. No big deal. No need to get defensive about some strangers driving skills. I also know what the factory plates look like. Lol.

The car in GT Silver with gold wheels at Goodwood actually didn't look too bad.
I'm no fan of GT Silver or gold wheels but the more I looked at the car the more I liked the combo.

Just spoke to my dealer about allocations and confirmed orders...

In a nutshell, I can get a GT2 RS, delivery either in mid-December 2017 or sometime after March 2018. That is the good news.

The bad news is that unofficially all Porsche dealers in Germany insist on the lucky winners also buying a Panamera S Diesel which is not moving at all here, due to the Diesel scandal and the potential future local lock-out from large metropolitan areas such as Munich or Stuttgart.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

that would be pretty bad Publicity if true - I think yr dealer takes you for a ride indecision

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Buy it and cross your fingers. People in the US seem to think a 997 GT2 RS is worth nearly $500K for some reason, so a 991 should do pretty well too assuming the P-bubble doesn't pop.

I agree, I just hope they don't adapt too much to the general (new) design language at Porsche. A new halo product deserves a slightly different design language but I guess they are going to go the 918 route in a way or another (which is fine with me).

Three years ago the 997 GT2RS that was produced in far lower numbers than the 991 GT2RS sold for substantial discounts as a used car. The same will happen with the new GT2RS. Who will still want it as a used car at MSRP (or even higher) after the car market came back to normal? Nobody. It is a consumable and will depreciate. Only very rare cars might still classify as an investment when the bubble is gone.
