Selfishly I hope the RS stays PDK-S only, but supposedly there is a faction of owners who want a Manual RS and Porsche is listening (not sure if a decision is final yet).

As far as I heard, no manual for the RS but like you said, who knows...

Kobalt:Just watched video of the Performante - want it bad but I think my driving will be too expensive in that car (90% track).
Are you thinking of the typical tires & brakes or something more?

I'm also a huge fan of the car, but aside from price I could never ever see myself arriving anywhere in a Lambo, I'd be deeply embarrassed.

I suspect that the car might not hold up as well as my Porsche to all the abuse...
And that the service costs and all the transportation of the car to the service point will make my life difficult.
As it is today: If I have a problem: I just mention it to my garage and they'll fix it. I think that wont be the case with the Lambo. (Because Porsches and BMW's are so common where I have my car)

Just personal taste, same reason I could never get a mid-engined modern Ferrari, for me they're too flashy. That doesn't mean I don't like them for someone else.

Its because it screams and shouts LOOK AT ME! Whatever you want to say about Lambo, the one characteristic is its way over the top in styling. Ferrari's are less in your face and Porsche is even less so.

well, ferraris are certainly a bit less flashy than lambos. 911 styling is just ....poorly retro. the 911 looks somewhat sporty but does it apologetically. the car seems to make the point that it doesn't really want to look like a sports car, since the ordinary beetle looks similar....'::::))))) and btw, i got a lot of compliments for the design of the 458italia while with the GT3RS the typical comment i get from non-cognoscenti is: interesting aftermarket tuning:::))))

Peter I'm certainly not stating a 911 is better/more stylish, hell mine is orange with a big wing. I just feel more comfortable with the brand image I guess.

interesting....i really dislike the cayenne soccer mom and turbo S douchebag-with-hair-implant image. i am not at all saying that everyone who owns those cars belongs to those groups but this is what often comes across, instead of AP's cool presentations of GT cars. also, i need to add that brand images vary a lot from culture to culture. what i referred to is what austrians perceive of porsche, in italy it is very different. italians generally like porsche but of course ferrari is an icon. lambo is liked in italy but not as ferrari.
