On a more serious note, the chassis was improved with wobbly rear wheel steering and I likely minor tweaks to PASM and PDK software. I doubt the car is identical to the .1 GTS with a blower engine in the rear.

In any case, I am a tad disappointed with the BMW time. I watched another video review of the CS and it was simply stellar. With 10% more torque than the GTS and likely better suspension I had expected it to be faster. Nevertheless, the most interesting affordable car that BMW built in the last 10+ years.

Affordable? It's like a 125k 3er. This car should be a slight premium to an m3 at best.

BMW hasn't been able to compete in the this performance tier for a decade now. Overprice, underperform. Audi is the new BMW imo.

You could also think of it as a detuned M4 GTS. Then it is affordable.

Yes, Audi overtook BMW years ago in this segment.

Oh no doubt, just the rear wheel steering is a plus as well as various tweeks they always do in the facelift, but I was referring that the GTS has nothing over the GT3 in terms of chasis Smiley It's all due solely to the blowers.

BTW It absolutely owned the M4CS and in that case it's not due to the turbos Smiley

No, Cup 2 (but not the ZP version they used for the Supertest of the GTR or the Corvette). The 991.2 GT3 already uses the Cup 2 Smiley

I test drove a 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS today with PDK, -20mm sport suspension, PDCC, rear-wheel steering, etc. A very nice car. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

You can all flame me now, but I prefer the engine character and sound to the 991.1. The additional torque was much welcome and it was hard to tell that it is a turbo engine. Fantastic response. The PSE cabin sound was not as harsh as the 991.1 and had more of an classic air cooled howl. Porsche has got rid of the pops and crackles in Sport Plus mode. Nice! kiss

Maybe it is time to hand over the manliness to someone else on the forum. I might drive that one with two child seats in the rear soon indecision

Firstly, there is always a next model around the corner. By the time the 992 GTS is presented in 2021, the 992.2 is around the corner... One can keep playing the waiting game forever.

Secondly, does anyone expect a revolutionary, rather than evolutionary, change with the 992? Nah, it will be the usual incremental changes as in the last 50 years.

Thirdly, getting a 991.2 GTS does not exclude upgrading it to a 992 at some point.

That is why I am not waiting indecision

The more revolutionary changes happen every 14 years (every 2 generations). This one will be close to 991 (like 996 and 997 relationship).
