Hi Has anyone got advice on a facelift kit for a 99 996. I bought it new and nearing early retirement means no 997 which I think looks great. Anyone had it done or can help?
There are many existing on the market but I think you should keep your as original it is now especially if it is an after 2001 model with the turbo optics.
If not try and buy a porsche magazine and you will find plenty. Just make sure you can change thing back to normal after....
please keep it original, a kit just doensn't do it! You'll always see a (small) difference.. It's a nice car the way it is! But yeah, it's your car so what am I saying
Hi by the way I was thinking that if you want to give it a different look without killing the car then I would suggest for you to buy a turbo front spoiler to give it an anniversary 40 years or a C4S look.
Why would you want to make a 996 look like a 997? You will make the car worthless on the used market. I cant see anybody wanting to touch such a car with a barge pole. I for one would not.
If you really want a 997 then save up and buy one - dont squander your money by ruining the value of a perfectly nice 996.
Hmmm, I think I would keep it stock. But if you want to change the looks, I'd rather go for the 996 GT3 mk1 look. That should only be exchanging the front spoiler, the rims and maybe the rear spoiler to complete it. Porsche offered that mod themselves, as aerokit. That way you update the looks, keep porsche original parts, and still hold some resale value. Maybe ask Carlos from Spain, he had a 996 C4 aerokit which looked wonderfull. -Joost-
