    Need your opinion, to RS carbon fiber wing or not?

    I'm getting a RS carbon fiber wing by Manthey Racing. It's on order and will be here in about a month. Suppose to look exactly like RS carbon fiber wing. Rennteamer's, your thoughts on replacing this wing with the on on my white GT3 (see pics on early posting). They will not have to replace my engine lid. Its made just to replace old wing only. I like the RS wing. But is it worth it? And does anyone have experience with Manthey racing.

    Be careful, you might need to change the front aswell, otherwise you could do some strange things to the aero dynamics at high speed.

    Not.

    I LOVE it as is!!!

    I'm "old school." Clean and classic is by far best, IMO.

    Already looking forward toseeing the pics! Manthey is a very respectable racing tuner, I don't think you need to have fear for that. As said,pay attention to the aerodynamics.

    Hm, to judge that we need some more infos of your lifestyle. Provide us with some more pictures, the people you are around, your nighttime activities...

    Just joking, I personally favour the RS wing on the white GT3. Curious how it will look with the smaller waist (compared to the RS model), reg. the aerodynamic balance I wouldn't be too concerned. Ask Manthey, who are very respectable tuners by the way, for their opinion. You might get the RS front lip, don't think anything else'd be necessary!

    i'm trying to find an allocation for a GT3RS and am considering white for the color.
    since no pics were available of a white RS i ps'd one out of a pic of user GT3SM's silver RS. (hope you don't mind stefano? )
    gives you some idea of what your gt3 will look like w/ the wing anyways.
    course your wing may have white end plates to go with the white mirrors?
    the wing from manthey is made specifically for the gt3?
    you mind saying the price?
    OH! and feel free to post another very LARGE pic of your girl friend at the beach.
    did you consider buying an RS?

    no doubt !

    I would put the RS wing !!!, the pic of icon says it all!!!!!!!!!

    Both wings look good (gt3 wing has been getting better from time to time, although at first I didnt like it ), but the RS wing makes the car so special and racing + the looks are unique !!...


    With that said, go for the RS wing, I am sure you will love more the looks of the car !

    I stick with my previous opinion, since you already orderedthe RS wing get it installed as well. The RS wing looked fine on the 996 GT3, especially compared to the reg. Mk1 and Mk2 rearwings.

    In my eyes the std. wing just lookes to organic and mellow for such a precise and purpose-built machine. On top of that, the CF looks and feels marvellous!

    To be fair it will look pretty darn good. Can't help feeling people will say, why didn't you get the RS? Fairly shallow comment I know as most people do not know the difference between the GT3 and GT3RS in any case. Having seen the PS'd image I think it will look okay.

    However, and there is always a however, I personally like the GT3 as it comes, in white and lots of kudos, either way your have a fine automobile.

    Icon, really apprecitate the pick. That car is beautiful. I was 2nd guessing my decision for awhile. But I think the carbon wing is going to look "sick", that's in a good way. That is the first picture I've seen in white. The wing will look exactly like the one on the RS/ Black/Carbon fiber. And once I get the wheels, the car will be complete in my mind. Installation and cost of wing will be around 3600 US dollars. Also considered the RS, but at the time I didn't want to wait that long for it and in addition the price. Thanks again for the amazing pics.

    ....Don't forget the chin spoiler, as it is different as well.

    Re-badge the car, change out the centercaps....
    you can fool most of your buddies...
    They will never notice the hole (sunroof)

    Trundle997S. First, I don't need to fool anybody or impress anyone!. It's a personal preference that I chose the RS wing. I think it simply looks better. I am not going to change the centercaps, I'm just changing the wheels completely. Now am I still trying to fool anyone. And lastly, even if I tried I couldn't fool my buddies, they are all porsche enthusiast and ALL getting 997 GT3's. I don't hang out with people I need to impress.

    Manthey get good reviews on their tuned porsches... but one thing you have to watch out for... the RS wing looks good on the RS, because it has the C4 wider body... it may look too big on a GT3 with the narrower C2 body... also, the GT3 was tuned according to the pre-set factory aerodynamics... I wouldn't mess with any of the spoilers/wing...
