    Short Shifter whats it like on the tt?

    We here this is again a factory option for 765$. Is it rough or notchy in anyway. Do you recommend this option?

    I like it very much. Much better than my standard 993 shifter.

    absolutely love it - think stick in butter for standard shifter and rifle bolt for sport shifter

    Love mine too! It's a bit notchy at first, especially when cold BUT it gets to be as smooth as butter once it's warmed up and gets better as the miles add on! Definitely recommend it!

    Are you sure that its a factory installed option? Last I checked, it was dealer-installed.

    must have option, shifts like a rifle bolt....contrary to the owners manual mine works fine even in cold temps.

    I agree with the other guys. I like the SS. The throws are short, the action is very certain and mechanical (but I like that). It is a little stiff and notchy when cold (ambient temp 30's) but very smooth and easy at operating temps (less than 2 miles driving in cold weather)

    Cold temps? I don't get it......it was 82 out today.

    blawson: I'm not sure if the B&M is the one to get. I have the OEM shortshifter from Porsche. I like that one because its designed to fit in the car without any modifications and you'd have full factory warranty coverage too.

    the OEM shifter is B&M 95% sure, good luck !

    I had B&M in my 997... Its a must. Shifting from 1st to 2nd was like shifter from 1st to "N"... thats how short it seemed.

    As others have said the factory SS is great and I'm glad I was able to order it from the factory. A highly recommended option/mod.

    I got in under the wire with a factory installed short shifter and very glad I did. For the first 500 miles or so shifting was very tight now it's like butter. You won't be disappointed if you get one.
