I just received my Cargraphic Export Loud Exhaust Pipes today. Can anyone tell me what all is involved in changing out the exhausts? I'm a Mechanical Engineer, used to working on cars and bikes, so this doesn't look very difficult. I just don't need to learn the hard way if there are any tricks or surprises involved in changing out these exhaust pipes.

FWIW, the Mognuson-Moss Act states that an automaker in the US can't deny warranty coverage due to use of an aftermarket consumable part like a muffler, unless they prove the part caused the failure. I believe Ford tried to compel customers to use motorcraft parts or lose warranty coverage, they lost. Thanks EMG55

in Europe your warrenty should not be void if you fit an aftermarket. The EU law states that if the equipment is of similiar or better quality than the OEM than there is no case to void your warrenty. That doesn't mean they won't try but at least there is some legislation in place to protect you.

Careful guy's. I just read on another site an owner of a 997TT took his car in for a oil leak and Porsche service told him that since he has after market exhaust, they would not repair the car under warranty.

I wouldn't do it myself since my mechanic encountered a little problem (actually two problems) with some stuck bolts/screws (the excessive heat made them stuck pretty well and he almost destroyed one at the turbo charger and destroyed one at the rear pipes which luckily wasn't a big problem). If your dealer breaks it, he has to fix it. If YOU break it...well...
The usual exhaust exchange job involves removing the rear bumper, the intercoolers (makes life easier) and also some hoses (intercooler, etc.) inside the engine bay.
Regarding warranty issues: YES, any aftermarket mod, incl. an aftermarket exhaust can indeed void your warranty. My suggestion is: let the dealer get the exhaust for you (may cost you slightly more but in the end it is to your advantage) and do the install. When problems occur, I doubt that the dealer will easily blame you, especially since the exhaust can be removed immediately without a trace.

I went to the dealer this morning to have the oil changed (600 miles/1000 km) and was telling the service manager my weekend project was to install the Cargraphic exhaust. He says 'Since you already have it in for the oil change, why don't you just let us install the system?' YES!
So ... the pipies are on! I picked up the car this evening. Unfortunately, it is/was pouring down rain so I didn't get much driving or a good feel for how the pipes sound. I can say, they are not 'LOUD"! They sound more like exactly what you would hope/expect to get from the factory.

One more thing, I visited with the service technician and he said he had to remove the turbos (very tedius) to get the pipes on just right. He said he did NOT remove the rear bumper or the wheels.

Is that the quiet version? Not really feeling it, I'm sure it sounds way better in person.
