Relax guys, ofcourse there will be a MY2008 for the RS. And there are a lot of reasons for that.
There is not the slightest hint from the factory that there won't be one, wich is a huge hint there will be one.
Just remember the past a bit here.
For the '73 RS they published ads stating that "only 500 men will drive one" in big gig letters. Well, after all they ended up building over 1500 of them.
When the 2004 GT3RS came out, there were quite a few statements about it being limited and the number 200 was spread in magazines. Well, 600 cars were built in the result. What does this tell you for the 997 RS, where there have not been any factory rumors of a limited run?
(You have to leave out US-dealer talk, what do they know)
After all it will be the typical scenario. Ofcourse there are the usual suspects (like you and me) that all want their cars within the the first months of production. Once that customer base is covered, it is getting thin ice for a model like that.
The 2004 RS is a good example for that. Big hectic in the beginning and at the end everybody that wanted one had one and there were a few cars left available.
I understand that it is a bit of a different story in the US, not having had such a thing lately. So things are bit more hyteric. But I am sure if you missed a 2007 with your dealer by a small margin you should be fine for a 2008.
Then again, if they would leave it a 2007 only model I would be a happy man
