    The wait is finally over!

    Finally, after waiting for 8 months my GT3 is here. Just got a call from my sales person and he said it has been on it's way from the port. He told me it should be arriving at the dealership anytime now but unlikely I can pick it up today. I guess it needs to prep and detailed. Hopefully tomorrow. Wish me luck. Pictures will be forthcoming. Thanks

    congrats!, mine has been at checkpoint 8 (complete at the factory, and waiting for shpping since the 27th!!!) - i have been calling everyday for an update but still no luck. Ihope you enjoy and please post pictures. What color did you get?

    Congrats. Man the wait was killing me. But you will get it. My car was at sea for 22 days throught the panama canal and 4 days at customs (arrived last Friday). Because you ordered your car you will get priorty at customs. Looks like your from the northeast. My sister husband just got a carerra GT silver 2007 997 C4S and it took about 13 days at sea coming to the Northeast. I hope thiss gives you a timetable of when you will get it. It took my car 11 days from build until it arrived on the boat. Thanks and good luck.

    thanks for the update, yes here in the northeast, not much time lrft before the crap weather, but i still just want to have it in the garage so I know the first time the weather is nice I can ro for a blast. Enjoy your new ride.

    Great news. Will be a constant blast for the first couple of months; the epitome will be just after breakin (however you define it).

    My advice: save your strength on delivery day. There's lots happening and you want to pay attention to what's impt to you.

    I was so preoccupied with the salesguy and staff BS there that I FORGOT to check alot of the car out for myself. Sounds stupid now, but at the time I figured everything must be just fine. Well 40 miles down the road from delivery day at the dealership I try to put a CD in for the first time: the !@#%^& thing didn't work! NAV didn't work!! I guess they were sooooo nice to me I assumed everybody was on my side and wanted the car to be perfect for me.

    Anyway, plan to start enjoying the car to the fullest when you get out of the showroom. While in the showroom just realize there's alot of "work" you have to be doing.

    Cancel work for the rest of the week and go out and drive the beast

    Hey, congratulations!! A new GT3! You are seriously lucky to have one of those.

    The waiting is unbearable and gets even worse the nearer you get. In the week before I went to the factory at Stuttgart to collect my new car, I couldn't sleep more than 5 hours. I would wake up several times during the night.

    It's agony but it's part of the bargain you make with the devil from Zuffenhausen. Suffer now, enjoy later...
