    Re: Another LP640 crash..

Accidents do happen and your fault your not, you lose precious time, money and more importantly damage your nerves. However there are too many a-holes driving fast cars arrogantly and irresponsibly. Yes indeed it's the LP640!

    Re: Another LP640 crash..

I do really like such cars that have the reputation of a dangerous monsters, they're the most desirable in my toplist
    Great choice, Mike!!!

Personally, I don't see how the lp640 is especially more dangerous than a Murcielago; conversely how an Enzo is far more dangerous than an F430.

My theory is that the majority of people who buy the outlandish super-exotics don't know squat about cars and have no business being in them (e.g. the litany of Enzo crashes by billionaires lately).

I must also question the veracity of the quote above that claimed that all of these crashes are done by lambo-employees. I believe the Balboni crash was a few months ago in Germany in adverse weather conditions.

However, the person who crashed the lp640 in the video seen a few days ago didn't seem like a lambo-employee. He seemed like a real moron. Of course, the two aren't mutually exclusive, but if he was a lambo employee, I'm sure he got the axe

    Re: Another LP640 crash..

If it's a wreckless driver that causes the accident then he should be banned from driving such cars. But if recent Lambos have a design flaw which means they could crash themselves at any moment and seriously injure or kill the driver, then that is another matter altogether...

When crashing the car in the city or in heavy traffic you can be sure that it's almost certainly recklessness. Sure, the exploding brake disks present a substantial risk, but I don't think they're to blame for people being morons.

    Addendum of 09/26/2006:
During the last few days quite a few Gallardos burned down.
For example the Gallardo of a German sportscar-rental burned down without even having an accident.
Also this Gallado burned down in california, being accident-free.
Well, the reason why I am stating those burned down Gallaros so explicitly on www.lambounfall.de is that I now know, which constructional flaw is accountable for those burnings:
The Gallardo got the CANBus technology from the Audi A4, which means it is full of control units, also for the engine. Now, if a Gallardo has a so called "missfiring" for some reason, which means that one or more spark plugs are not working then the computer recognizes this fault and stops firing the spark plugs on the whole cylinderbank. But NOT the fuel supply! The dashboard shows some warning lamps like Cat or Engine 1-6, which means nothing serious according to the manual. However the catalyzer has about 400*C temperature and if fuel is supplied for just a few minutes, which isn't burned in the engine, then the catalyzer starts burning and few minutes later the whole engine compartment is burning.
In short: If a spark plug fails in the Gallardo, a short time after the whole engine compartment and the car is burning!

this is why the VAG group gives me the creeps!this are engenering flaws, not quality flaws

I can't see THIS guy as a Lamboy employee as well... Some people should stop spreading rumours across the board and rather rely on the facts!

Pic as requested. Sorry about the quality but I haven't got around to taking any more as yet. The car is Bianco Cygnus with Nero Perseus/Bianco Polar interior.

I think it should be an EU-wide law that any car with more than 300 bhp should come with a 1 day compulsory driver training course included in the price as standard.

I would even provide an incentive. If a person undergoes such a course, they should qualify automatically for a 5% discount on their car insurance for each of the next 5 years.

Great idea! Do 21 days driver training and your insurance company would have to start paying you the premium!

So funny you bring up the CANBus from the A4. My A4 has all kinds of spark plug problems, of which my model didnt' get a factory replacement (simply because the costs...). It is trully irritating and my Audi dealership has been nothing but unhelpful.
