Speaking of monsters: No matter how one feels about the GT2 RS, the car is already a legend and pleases many people at car meets. A friend of mine is in Monaco and he said that the crowd was chasing down a GT2 RS there, as if it was an UFO with aliens in it. He never saw so many people interested in a car, so the GT2RS definitely has a street presence car fans love.

RC's friend failed to mention they were all 20 somethings carrying GoPros and DSLRs hanging out in front of the casino with youtube channels.
Sorry, but I really doubt a GT2 RS gets any more attention than the 991.1 GT3 RS at any given time unless it's bright green and pink. Cars that look just like the 2RS have existed for a long time now.

Exactly. In our now stupid world of Facebook frenzy a sport car with a giant wing in the back in Monaco will likely get you a lot of likes or dislikes...

There were tons of GT3 and didn't get the crowd's attention as the GT2 RS...according to my friend (who btw. is not a car spotter or how you call these guys these days, he was "participating" with a friend in a AMG GT S). Police was incredibly aggressive this year according to him, they stopped people for just revving the stationary car. One police officer apparently told them to get lost, they don't want them there, so I guess Monaco is fed up with Top Marques and what not. In his (my friend's opinion, he is an event organizer) things would run much more smoothly if there would be some sort of official organization to keep the many cars in large groups, rather than letting them on the loose all over town. I've never been to these events there but I know Monaco and yes, it can get crowded, so I understand why there are serious issues with so many cars there at the same time.

I’m up doing some track days with friends in Norway (no official, we rented the track ourselfs) and we brought in some professional drivers here as coaches (one is doing the super cup and one is a MB factory driver). One of my friends got his GT2 RS (with WP) and it looks brutal. He specked it all black with black rims.
So we let the super cup guy push first my car (991.1 GT3, with its third engine ) and then the GT2 back to back. The track is about 3,2 km and the time difference was 3,1 seconds..... ! And this is a short, technical track, so can just imagine how much faster it would be on for example Spa
Still waiting for mine, that seems stuck at the exclusive department, but hopefully it’ll come soon

The only thing that I know is they are right now under max pressure and completely overloaded.
Suppliers can’t deliver parts correctly as well which is another issue.
My extended time in exclusive was due to wrong parts supplied multiple times...

Oops, doesn’t sound promising. But they have three weeks to solve this since I’m traveling next couple of weeks and then the sports cup starts at Hockenheim. But we’ll back home from that race, I would really like to run in the “monster”....
But I don’t know about this thing with run in the engine. Done it twice with the GT3, but the engines went to h... anyway.
So now, with the third engine, I skipped that part and just went for the track. My friend have even more cheast hair than me, because he took his brand new GT2 to the track and had done 300km before he now pushed it to the limit for two days.
The mechanics I’ve spoken to said (unofficial) that the best and healthiest cars they see is the press cars. And they are going 100% from the first km, so.....

Gnil:On Red bull ring the GT2 RS is faster on the straight then the Cup cars. My brother just came back from the first Swiss Cup race there and one guy came with the GT2 . People were very impressed !
Not. very hard to do as the GT2RS has like and extra 200HP..........
I think a Cup car tops out at around 240-ish at my track on the main straight. a P1, 918, F12, 720S all can top that easily.
Cup car takes longer to get there though, as it has a much shorter braking distance so it can stay in acceleration mode longer.

now take the power of GT2RS, give it cup chassis like and see the disaster...

Here’s the latest report on the never ending story about PAGs non German like behavior (production fuck ups....).
April 8th, I received an e-mail letting me know that my car was built, properly checked by Porsche technicians and ready to be shipped. Since the, I learnt it went to the exclusive department. And there it’s been for three weeks now.... So I started to investigate when the car could be expected at my door and now the latest news is:
All GT2’s are due for extra quality controls before being released to the customers?!! VERY strange I would say, since I have at least six friends that have received there’s and they have not been approached that they need any check up. So what the f... is going on???
New predicted arrival of my car is now v23-24 i.e TWO MONTHS after I received the e-mail saying it was ready to be shipped....
Any one of you heard anything about any newly discovered quality problems with the GT2 ?

Seb74's WP non PTS was pulled back from the dealer(!) for some extra "control". I have no info why Porsche did it.
He's got his car now.
Mine is not delayed as far as I know.
FWIW: There where at least 4 GT2RS at the Scuderia Hanseat: Red WP, White WP, Crayon WP, GT Silver WP.

Maybe this is related to the car that went up into flames on the track

He told me the RS was doing 260 or 265 on the straight . But loosing about 5 sec on a lap

On my track, a stock GT3RS can't do 260 on the main straight.
.2 Cup car is about the same HP but at 2600lb, they do topped out at 240. And the Cup car can brake perhaps 30m later if not more.
On a side note, my little Alfa 4C only do about 190km/hr there but I have loads of fun driving it on track!
That chassis is great, the car just need some stiffer suspension and it will be perfect. I don't even miss the HP, nor was I chasing lap times either.
