    My new baby...

.. well back home from picking her up. First impressions - well the clutch is very heavy... my first drive was getting across Jn 11 of the M4 at rush hour for those who know what that can be like. It's a bit rubbish out tonight so have kept it well within itself - hopefully when it's light and we get a bit of a break in the weather I can open her up a bit. For now enjoy the pics...

    And my new wallpaper....

    Re: My new baby...

    congratulation!very nice car!

    Re: My new baby...

    What a beauty!

    Sincere congras!

    Re: My new baby...

Che bellissima macchina! Congrats!!For me, Toro Red is the best colour for the V8!And post some pics in day light, please!

    Re: My new baby...

Congratulations - but I thought Tomorrow Was The Day? or should I say Tomorrow Never Dies

Can't wait to see it in the metal - but please, keep a sympathetic distance from our humble little Boxster

    Re: My new baby...

Congrats, drive with health and fun !!

    Re: My new baby...

    sweet

    Re: My new baby...

    Congrats! Sharp color choice!

    Re: My new baby...

Looks magnificent! Lovely colour, I had a DB9 in the same colour for a while. I did test drive the AMV8 but didn't get on with the clutch and the (for me anyway) slightly notchy gear shift, I even test drove a car with 6,000 KM on it to compare to a new one, same, very hard to drive in stop go Tokyo traffic.

Enjoy your lovely new motor! And post some pics when you get it on the road!!

    Re: My new baby...

Love the red stitching! More pics please!
Hope you'll get used to the heavy clutch quickly!

    Re: My new baby...

Beautiful car and none of that "flappy paddle" nonsense !

    Re: My new baby...

I love it. I particularly like the red stitching on the interior. It is crappy weather your right, but as has been said more times than I care to mention, what a beautiful car, so get out and let everyone see it.

I drove my boss's DB9 Volante in the summer and it "really" does attract attention. The girls love it.

    Re: My new baby...

Congrats Rich C. I'm considering an AM myself. I love this car.

    Re: My new baby...

Very nice touch with the red stitching. Are the doors heavy at all with the uptilt? Must have been a thrill pulling out of the dealership.

    Re: My new baby...

Congrat Rich C (UK)......so when are you going to pull fuse 22 out of the boot....and let those pipes go straight through! I found when i was driving the test car, i kept trying to keep the revs above 4000rpm so that i could hear the exhaust.
When our '07 AMV8 arrives in March....still considering getting the vacum flap in the exhust permantently opened. Then I can hear it from all rpm!

Be surre to give us your thoughts after you have done a few kms in it!

    Re: My new baby...

    Awesome Rich. Congrats again .

    I love the color .

    Re: My new baby...

    Congratulations on a fantastic car

Now all we need is more photos, some videos and some more photos and we'll almost be satisfied

And don't worry too much about the clutch, just think of it as free excersise Congrats again!

    Re: My new baby...

Gorgeous red. I like reds that are a bit darker and rich, but not quite bordeaux.

    Congrats and enjoy!

    Re: My new baby...

I'm not really sure whether I like the AM V8, but I know that I'm not really happy with the way it looks.

It's also pretty funny that I simply couldn't get used to how the AM V8 feels. Get a lighter clutch and a more powerful engine to this powerful car... and I'll be happy (though I'll stick to my AMG SL55 ).

    Re: My new baby...

Congrats rich! The interior is perfect! I too also thought the clutch was slightly heavy, but i'm sure you will get used to it quick

    Re: My new baby...

    What a beauty!

    Congrats again, Rich, good choice!

    Re: My new baby...

OK, first couple of impressions from driving in this morning.. 8 miles, cross country but plenty of traffic.

Yep, clutch is heavy, but nothing you can't get used too - will havve to make sure I balance out with more reps on my right leg down the gym.

Despite only being 100mm, 4" wider than the box it feels wider, at the moment at least. Parlty as you can't see any of the bonnet (hood) so no reference point, partly 'cos I still scared sh*tless driving such an expensive motor

The car IS going to be the death of me - no major road accident or anything like that, I'm just going to freeze as it IS obligatory to have the window open no matter what the weather just to listen to that exhaust note.

Finally, it passed the school test - never seen so many thumbs up as I drove past the village school... including some of the young mothers

right, back to work, if I keep busy the day will pass more quickly and it'll soon be time for another blast... (although 12.6mpg on the way in )

    Re: My new baby...

    Fantastic

We want fuse 22 + tunnel + videocamera

    Hi Rich,

I understand what you mean by that, I too always have both my windows down in the 430 to just listen to the exhaust note

By the way, have you thought of doing the mod to the Aston Martin where by the exhaust valve is open all the time? Similar to the Porsche 997 PSE mod. Bet you will get a real kick out of it

Well, I'd say driving a F430 in South Africa and driving a V8 Vantage in rainy Britain makes some difference...

Please make some before and after sound clips Rich!! I would love to hear how significant the changes are

True, speaking of rain, we've been having too much of it lately. I can't even get a chance to take my babies out for a spin

Mike, what you really wanted to say was:
I'll take the chance and take my babies out now just to spin around.
