Oh they are. When they come back to the pits from hot laps I had really good looks at the tires, they are not even gumming up.

And the Camaro team don't even limit the laps either, Randy was given free rein, he can stay out as long as he wanted to. Only time he came back was for fuel and discuss the handling of the car with the engineers. and then he goes right back out.

This new tire compound from Goodyear is really a game changer. I am surprised too, the name Goodyear was not at the top of my head when I think of great track tires. Trofeo R first then Cup2s, then Dunlop Maxx Race. The 3R jumped right to the top from nowhere!

Possibly. They haven't announce sizing yet. Right now there is only 2 sizes, front and rear for the Camaro, 305/30-19, 325/30-19

Few days ago I was on short business trip to Bayern (Munich area) and just out of sheer curiosity I visited two PZ to check out about 991.2 GT3 availability. In first no luck, waiting period one year. In second same story, but sale guy told me that "he has some connections". He gave a phone number of their client who bought two (!!) 991.2 GT3. I called that person and told him who gave me his number. In short he really have 2 991.2 GT3 PDK for sale. He apparently bought them on his company and is now intenting to sell them for the profit. Pure speculator. No more and certainty no less.

My question is how is this possible? Ok, Porsche can not fully control what PZs are doing, but nevertheless...

My gut feeling is that within next few weeks mobile.de will be flooded with new GT3s. A lot of almost new 991.1 GT3 RS are currently on sale on mobile and autoscout. It seems to me that at least 50% of 991.1 GT3 RS ended in speculator hands. Same thing is now happening with 991.2 GT3.

Btw, price for 991.2 GT3 was 222.000€ or about 55k € above normal price with options in Germany.

I fully agree - prices are already coming down in most segments of the car market. While many people will burn money as a result this is good for true car enthusiasts Smiley

I taught Porsche was controlling now much closer their customers Smiley Maybe the GT3 is not special enough so that they care ? My dealer told me that for the Turbo Special edition they had to send the names + all the cars that the customers has his garage to s special Porsche department to get approval for the sale .

The R and RS have a wide center slot running the length of the car over the roof and frunk (a channel for air).

Watt, if he is telling you September delivery unless you pay for the car to be flown in ($25,000) he is wrong. Porsche has stated that no US cars will finish production and ship until mid September.

Sure looks that way. The two center side by side rear exhausts are a give away. Also, the center wheel caps in silver are what all GT3's have.

Update on the "touring package" version of the GT3:

- Improved rear diffuser and aerodynamics

- Faster top speed than "normal" GT3 with wing (due to the above)

Today I got the confirmation from a second source that the touring package is coming...so it seems a pretty sure thing.

I'm willing to bet that these touring package 0.2 GT3s are going to be the most sought after of all 986-997-991 GT3/RS made by far, with the exception of the 996GT3RS and 997GT3RS 4.0... ironically more than traditional GT3s with the wing...

Indeed with the rear seats even more, but even without them, and in manual tranny I think even more than with PDK though that you never know for sure, but stands to reason that if you want it for the track you want PDK and in that case you would go for the regular winged GT3, but fit the street lots prefer manual and those want the touring package as well, also it may be more rare in manual.

Agreed...the second best thing after the 911 R (which will probably drop in value in the process).
